Whistle blowers on government wrongdoings are heroes and should be treated as such, especially when it's concerning the U.S. government, which is as transparent as a block of cement and been allowed to get away with so much for so long

Why does the NSA still utilize "civilian contractors"???

Sigh..........

You just did.
TEE HEE

I'm laughing at this effort to redirect the story. Make it about this girl.
It's ABOUT THE DOCUMENT THAT'S REAL. It came from the NSA. It's not a fake or anonymous source
Making the entire Russia story true.

I guess I can understand this effort.

Did she leak anything that the administration had illegally done?

Or did she leak things to harm the US?

That's exactly how I feel about Chelsea Manning and Eric Snowdon oh and Julian Assange too. . Well except for the leftist part.

Has it been "confirmed" she isn't related to Snowden or Manning ?

Who cares. The doc is real. That's the important thing.

What does it show in your opinion?

Honestly kind of curious...

Read to me like it was a standard social engineering attack that would not have allowed the russians to change vote tallies so it certainly did not change the election.

This idiot just short circuited her life over nothing..

Actually nobody knows anything.

The document has not been confirmed as genuine !

Agree that the whistle blowers are heroes, but there is obvious need for secrecy.

It is a precarious balancing act with secrets.
The comments she made about race is pretty damning, if she did indeed say it. Remember we are dealing with the NSA, maybe other agencies that are going to make sure she seems crazy.

It may or may not be.

The "Government" hasn't said the document published is the same one she got arrested for.

Odd pic to post. Top secret clearance, perhaps the screening qualifications need to be tinkered with a bit?

A real beach-bomber eh !!

She could have been a whistleblower and had protection if she went to the proper group. She gave that up to be a star.

Total agreement. It seems more was found out in a few hours than was conducted during her clearance check. One would think the name alone would have raised an eyebrow minimum.

I seem to recall early on that the Obama admin was looking to expand diversity in its hiring practices and that was a qualifier and not an interesting side note.

It was also something observed where my husband works and deals with government regulatory that after the 2008 elections, the character of the US regulatory officials began to change quite a bit. They shifted from more seasoned people who had some working experience with the industry to young out of college hotshots who took the position that industry was always wrong or trying to pull crap and had no understanding of how it actually worked.

Husband sat in on some meetings with regulators who wanted to tear out large chunks of regulations for new procedure and change established procedures not because it was any kind of improvement but just to put their names on having "reformed" it and climb the ladder.

Can't help but wonder if this kind of turnover was going on across the board. Chasing out old guard for young, wet-behind-the-ears kids from college who believed in the new admin's mission.

That's ridiculous.
Oh and being a democrat if she even is, is not a crime.
Being a leftist is not a crime.
Hey I hate to tell you this but even hating trump is not a crime.
The screening is pretty mundane. They do background checks and criminal history searches.
You don't have to be a paragon of virtue to get security clearance .
They don't test your political ideology. They don't delve in to your religious briefs or lack of beliefs.
There is no reason to question the motives of the people who screened her.
How stupid is that?

I chose the name of my business and that was artsy. Lol.

I'm not fooled by the smoke screen. This is significant and it's a scary prospect. Trying to invalidate the source or make her a joke doesn't change the information we just learned. But that's what is being attempted with this thread.

It won't change the doc or the data.

Possibly, it's not like they haven't done things like that (or worse) to whistle blowers in the past.

Additionally, there may be need for secrecy, but it's the reasoning behind such that is the problem, like when the NSA global surveillance program was leaked, who decided that it was ok to carry out?

The U.S. government must have many secrets, many of which probably should be a right to know, and yet, aren't.

I've never seen a case move thru the system this fast, its as if it was almost pre-planned........ Nah !

Its almost like the case of a certain explosives expert investigating at OKC.
