Most of them do have that. Thing is that with some of them the effects creep up on you slowly so that you don't realize how badly you are being affected. I know that from my own experience. Thankfully, I didn't snap and was able to recognize what was going on in time.

But what I was on was something very common.

I learned my lesson though. If I have to change my medications for anything that mucks with my mental chemistry, I alert those who know me or work around me and ask them to watch my moods.

Small workplace and relationships gone bad.

That's my operating premise. It could be that this employee just was trouble period.

No indication of shooter a member of any subversive or terrorist group.

But why would the FBI be involved?

I think the Feds are going to be in on any investigation of a mass shooting, just to make sure it's not terror related or have some link to certain groups.

The police mentioned a previous call. I would think it points to the personally of the person.

Possession could be a felony (depending on what he had), Battery should be a felony... so I am going to suppose that this person having a gun was illegal.
