I do disagree with doing it through regulation but I wonder... Are these sites used to monitor domestic activity so that plots can be uncovered? I heard claims to have uncovered and stopped, 15 attacks I think they said, on some BBC report. With three attacks in three months maybe that isn't the best way to go but instead attack those sites, cut them off... stop allowing radicalization to ever take place to begin with, as best we can.

Aggressively root out the traitor Imams and support network in some problem mosques in the UK has to be part of any plan.
These psychos are NOT solely radicalised by online sites, the UK government knows that some mosques are harbouring extremist leaders.
Root them out and lock them up.

I just think looking at how radicalization happens is key - regardless of when or where it happens. We know it happens on the internet. Does it happen in Mosques? Could be, but burning them all down certainly won't help matters. Maybe put in undercover Muslim cops to catch it? Maybe they do this already to catch plots and we just don't know about it?

Just shouting "kill 'em!" is only going to fuel the flames of radicalization.

Radical terrorism of most kinds is down to belief system's but most other forms of terrorism AND a lot of radicalization occur's (In the west) because of Ethnic community's springing up rather than merging into the greater community of the host society, this creates further alienation and fosters an US and THEM mentality, segregation whether forced or natural, separate schooling and community's in which radicalization can and do take place are the main problem's, forced integration also would foster another kind of counter culture.
Most effective way to fix a society is to start with the Education, both of the children AND of the parent's.

New migrant's should be forced to learn far more about our culture than they currently do and be dissuaded - gently - from forming ethnic enclaves but it will always exist.

Were ever people are different it foster's an US and THEM attitude even at the individual level, groups will always form and those whom feel they do not belong will always gravitate to one side or the other.

One potential solution,
Education, more FRIENDLY police presence and community officers seen to be helping these community's by those that live in them reducing there feeling of alienation to the host society, More opportunity's for ALL Kid's so government investment into infrastructure for all not just the rich and into industry and job creation, More social integration driven policy's not less as is the Tory way.

So we need center left socially minded government which actually cares about the people, all the people of this nation and also we DO need far tougher control on who comes into our country but it has to be fair and across the board, not so much limiting there numbers (though definitely that as well) as checking on there quality and if we can not do so, we don't know who they really are we should simply say NO! and stop them at the border.

The Tory solution is LESS money for the police, strip the normal and necessary police such as the community and road patrol police of there funding and divert some of that to specialist anti terror squad's, impose more public control powers over all people with the excuse it is to deal with terrorist's, play on the public's fear by sounding angry and shocked every time there own cut's lead to an atrocity and then promote yet more unfairness in society by imposing a class system and further segregation upon the poorest and most deprived in society.

BUT

We have seen the equal absurdity of the opposite version, Sweden is a prime example of a state that bent over backward to help immigrant's whom then bit the hand that fed them.
There too they allowed the formation of Enclaves inside there city's, area's were the people of shared value's and belief's congregated and became dominant.

So There is no getting away from it, MOST interpretation's of Islam are at there core incompatible with western value's and most Islamic migrant's into the west follow these incompatible interpretation's, NOT ALL but MOST and that is a serious problem.

Yes it does in some problem mosques.
This has been common knowledge for years.
Google is your friend, the UK government knows this.

They been playing what she says over the airwaves all morning, toning down her focus on "on-line extremism".

To them that means anyone that speaks up against the 'war on terror' is a terrorist. Around here thats becoming more popular, people that don't agree with the war on terror are called sympathizers or apologists, whatever.

Controlling the narrative is controlling free speech, punishing people for their opinions, making dissent a crime, slowly, bit by bit.

Like trying to outlaw private firearms ownership in the wake of mass shooting sprees in the US, the attack on freedom of expression on the internet is going to blossom every time theres another 'terror' event.

We don't need to give up any more freedons or be under more surveillance.
We need a law that allows the state to gather evidence and intern anyone suspected of planning or supporting any act of Islamic terror.

Simple.

Absolutely agreed.
There are problem mosques in the UK with traitor Imams, anyone who denies this should tell the government they are obviously mistaken.
SMFH how some on ATS are so desperate to pretend that the UK Islamic community doesn't have a problem in the 'real world', I guess they know something the UK government doesn't.

Yeah, and the similarity between the religion of peace idiots thst spring up to warn us against islamaphobia and the kill them all nutjobs is depressing.

It's simplicity itself to target the actual enemy instead of some overreaching legislation that makes life suck a bit more for all of us not trying to kill women and kids on a night out.

How about you just stop importing terrorists into your country? This left wing "tolerance" fad has gone exactly how we on the right predicted. Third world goat herders with no concept of human rights don't belong in the first world. Experiment failed.

Agreed, the ones desperate to avoid admitting the elephant in the room which is problem mosques and Imams are as bad as the kill them all brigade.
It is difficult for security forces trying to recruit Muslim agents to infiltrate. That has to be done to address the problem on our home soil.

I find myself agreeing with a couple of members here that support regulating the more obviously radical online sites that are known to be used for recruiting tools by these terror cells.

Yes, I understand that is very close to censorship, but I'm not sure the internet is actually the great bastion of 'freedom' that most think anyway, and it sure seems a long way from a 'right' to me. More likely, it is just another method of control, a shadow limb of the MSM/pop cultural machine.

That said however, it would be one fine tool to actually dismantle and eventually obliterate islamic extremism if properly used. In fact, that might be the only actual value it really has: waging social/psychological warfare on whichever chosen demographic it targets......hmmm.

Letting Immagrants come into the country without proper vetting and conditioning to fit in is causing problems, it also allows terrorists to increase their numbers within the country they come into. The intent to limit what we can see and hear may have been the intent of the leaders who actually pushed to get refugees into countries. The internet is a dangerous thing for the people presently in power. It allows people to communicate and their propaganda does not work properly when people can check if it is true.

This is a part of a setup to limit our ability to see the whole truth. In fact, the Liberals starting riots are fueled by social media and MSM. They reinforce the beliefs of these radical liberals, they allow their numbers to grow. IS the whole radical liberal a part of this plan too? I am sure the puppets demonstrating are not smart enough to see the whole picture.

This whole turmoil is going to severely alter what we are allowed to share and read on the net.

Theresa May's continuing war on our freedom has been given a boost , the old mantra of if we change they've won means nothing to a PM who as Home Secretary showed a desire to snoop on all our communications and know what we've searched or viewed.

At least with the upsurge in support for Corbyn her landslide victory in the coming election looks remote and any anti libertarian laws she want's to pass will face opposition and scrutiny.

She continues to ignore the biggest driver of radicalisation which is our understaffed prison system.
