Public executions of terrorists and those known to support/shelter terrorists will inhibit terrorism.

No it won't.

You have your opinion, I have mine.

Except that your opinion will bring a lot more terrorism.

I think it also has a lot to do with not allowing encrypted communications.

I think that monitoring them and catching them BEFORE they do stupid # would be a good idea.
But way to go full retard there sparky!

And by monitoring/controlling what they are doing/seeing on their computer via the net, we could do that.

Sparky.

the recruitment has happened online, not in a Mosque or within Muslim communities.

Got a link to support that assertion?
Are you saying there are no Imams or mosques preaching hate in the UK?
Strange, the UK government thinks differently, and has done for a few years:
UK Telegraph

British authorities will be given powers to close down mosques where extremists gather under a future Conservative government, Theresa May has announced. The Home Secretary also pledged to review how Shari’a law is used in England and create new “extremism officer” roles in prisons to stop radicalism spreading among criminals.

Perhaps you should advise the UK government?

Profiling works, so too does using common sense and your eyes, so when humans with special skills engage all 3 at once, amazing things manifest themselves, just ask Sherlock.

Calm down, chill out, relax. Think logically, not emotionally.

Whatever "we" as a world are currently doing, is obviously not working.

Extreme problems require extreme measures.

I'd think that last night was a clear indication that passive approaches to combatting islmic extremism is not working.

But maybe we just nee to hug harder and forgive more and apologize constantly, then when we surrender, maybe the bad guys won't kill too many of us.

...but if you prefer free speech with handy bomb making instructions and encouragement to kill non believers...

Yes. I might despise what they say but I prefer that over removing their freedom to say it.

What I do object to, however, is when our freedom to highlight our despise is taken from us. Who do you really think will be prosecuted under this? It's not going to be the terrorists, it's going to be you and me.

Fair points, but It's already illegal to incite hatred or killing etc.
Do you disagree with that legislation?

That's where my friends with 'special skills' come into play.....once the government gets off it's ass and goes on the offensive that is.

Knocking on wood.

Today 50,000+ expected to attend concert in Manchester.

Manchester's terrorist threat is still at critical.

I wonder if something catastrophic were to happen, will the tone still be the same tomorrow morning?

When dealing with extreme ideologies; there's not much you can do except deal with the aftermath.

Martyrdom is so illogical that, there is no logical solution.

Do you think the conversation about what laws to change into capital offenses will happen before they're done trying to censor the internet?

It won't.

So, how do address the recruitment sites without advocating for censorship?

I've recently started re-reading Quran again, and it's becoming more clearer and clearer to me that these terrorists attacks won't stop any time soon. Quran clearly states that if non believers attack you, kill them all. And since, I presume, those committing terrorist attacks, are 100% convinced that the West had started this "war", these attacks won't stop.

I just don't see it happening, especially if the West(apart from the USA now) continues it's passive approach towards dealing with this massive security threat that radical Islam possess. In my mind, I don't see this threat being resolved without liberals whining about their individual rights being hurt, or drawing delusional non existent parallel between the Nazi's and what our governments are supposed to do, in order to completely annihilate this threat
