How will Trump's policies change law enforcement in America?

President Trump said Friday he was “very happy” to sign into law two bills that would provide help to members of law enforcement and veterans.

Seated at a table in the White House’s Diplomatic Reception Room, Trump approved a measure giving priority for federal grants to those federal and state law enforcement agencies that hire and train veterans.

“We are behind you 100 percent,” he said to the public safety officers and vets at the ceremony.

There has been a shift in the feeling toward LEO from the white house and it is welcomed. These people has a really hard job.

Trump said we are behind you 100%. The 2 bills he signed will give priority to LEO and veterans for grants and make it easier for family members filing for survivor benefits.

Nice to see the President and LEO on the same page, it is a refreshing change.

O may have been the worst thing to happen to civility in our country in many decades. He got things stirred up. You can't shove reform down people's throats, you need to filter it in slowly and surly over a few generations. Too much riling up of civil rights during the O terms. Under O hate groups got way bigger.

And I learned new terms like SJW and the over use of community. Everyone is in their own stupid community.

Guess what, your sex, your color, and who you plow on a regular basis means a hell of a lot more to you than to the rest of the world. Shut up you are not that interesting and no one cares you are what ever you are. (end rant)

Well, may the President Trump legacy live on in the hearts of the good Americans.

Lets now hope he goes after the "real terrorist", the American gangs that roam the street freely.

Yes, I remember just a few short months ago when "O" forced so many people on ATS to make numerous threads talking about how bad LEO's were. Thank God we have a Republican, a white one at that, who has brought all that to an end

Part of the problem we are currently having with LOE is the they are increasingly militarized. I hope prioritizing veterans more then they already do will not cause more problems.

Do you doubt there is a change in "feelings" from the WH to LEO?

No, I don't. I feel there is a change in a P.R. view of LEO's for the country to eat up, just like the right, A.K.A., ATS has obviously done

If it is true, is it foolish to "eat it up"?

You don't believe Trump is sincere?

Or LEO is sincere?

Are you being deliberately obtuse or what?

No, TRUMP, NOR THE WHITEHOUSE are being sincere, they are just playing on the emotions of people. And this site is lapping it up like the good old dogs they are

Not being obtuse, you leave a lot open to interpretation.

I do think Trump is a law and order pres, and he does have respect for the police and military.

You have a different opinion, that's OK.

This sounds like a job offer to active duty military so they don't reenlist when it's time to in order to quietly downsize the military due to not needed as many personnel since robotics will be taking over their jobs. The military will probably use more techno robotic warfare set up like a video game control room soon and less combat soilders actually out in the danger zone. The military will implement this type of warfare first where the state and city governments will still have use for those who can take down another human being and kill them if they have to at a close distance and still be mentally healthy as many who served in combat in the military, as well as LEO's who have had to kill another in the line of duty who were never in the military, suffer depression, anxiety and PTSD from having engaged in close combat.

I can see LE Agencies needing paper pushers and storekeepers and mechanics where some veterans can easily transfer over to them and avoid direct combat but somehow I'm thinking where they are needed is to build up an armed police force where recruiting and retaining police is difficult because of the declining community relationships and violence on both sides seen. Police Officers are having a hard time coping and staying mentally healthy just as our military members do after being in combat. It's terrible for them. Everyone can build it up, give medals and honors to them and that helps build their confidence to a degree, but they hurt emotionally from it. Many suffer in silence. Now is the time to be a Peace Force at the state level since the military is projected to cream the population via robotic warfare in the end with most all of us dying. So why not at the State level go out Peaceful among each other. If we're all going to die, our kids and grandkids, well, most of us anyway, due to the major war manifesting, why die angry hurting someone where instead we can die hopeful and knowing we saved a life the best we could. And our neighbor at that. Love your Lord God with all your heart, and your neighbor and yourself. Love, love, love.
