Many came before her: Shakespeare, Bruce, Pryor, Carlin

You are putting Kathy Griffith in the same category as those people? Now that is a true insult. To them.

Nobody thinks she is funny. She is a Z-list nobody that nobody ever heard of or rememeber until now and the media doesn't help to put her back into oblivion.

Really? No sh!t Sherlock.Your observation power is truly awesome.
Just admit that you do not know Kathy's intention. To me it was a "shock value". To you she wants Trump dead.
Who's right?

Hi DA.

KG's comedy is satirical. It's pretty simple.

Many came before her: Shakespeare, Bruce, Pryor, Carlin, etc etc etc

IMO - - this (per usual) is blown way out of proportion. And (per usual) if left alone, it would have quietly died. But, NO! We can't have that, now can we?

Satire is a genre of literature, and sometimes graphic and performing arts, in which vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, ideally with the intent of shaming individuals, corporations, government, or society itself into improvement.[1] Although satire is usually meant to be humorous, its greater purpose is often constructive social criticism, using wit to draw attention to both particular and wider issues in society. en.wikipedia.org...

Hi annee, curious to see what you say about the KG comment bout Baron that is in this thread where she is saying she wanted to beat down Baron too

here is the quote

www.washingtonexaminer.com...

It was a joke.

She got in trouble before making a joke that Dakota Fanning was on drugs.

She recovered from that. She will recover from this.

I've followed her for years.

She's really not a Z-list comedian.

I can understand that. She does need to go back into oblivion, but this is a discussion about what she did, so saying lets just not talk about it does nothing to help us understand it better.

Oh I agree that this needs to be discussed but the problem is the media is using this to push even more division. Hell they even planned to run a political ad using her picture for f's sake.

I'm a fan of satire.

Carlin is still my favorite. But, Kathy is really good at it too.

She has had many controversies. This isn't anything new with her.

Recover from a picture that looks like Isis took the photo? Interesting. What do you think she will recover?

I can't stand Trump nor do I think he has done anything substantive as of yet BUT enough is enough.

Griffin and Bloom = Dumb and Dumber.

She will be shamed even more before this whole fiasco is done and over with.

I don't care that much about this event, personally.

Though I find myself wondering how the same people that previously claimed they believe in free speech can do such a flip around. I remember discussing the Charlie Hebdo affair with others, and my opinion that some limits should apply to free speech out of respect for others, and was pretty much alone on that.
Curious.

As previously said - - she's had many controversies in her career.

As have many satirists that push the limits.

At least I know about the person we're talking about - - as I've followed her for years.

So you going to condemn the joke are just point out it WAS one? I mean we are discussing Baron the 11 year old who has already had to deal with the harsh reality of a beast of a woman doing a G o Thrones/ ISIS play for a joke AND said she wanted to beat down a CHILD!

That also makes sense. Left or right, anything for an agenda. That is why people should not do things to further the agenda of their adversaries. She wanted the spot light. Looks like she got it.

Her right to free speech has not been infringed. Her right to be paid by paying customers or be free from criticism is different than free speech as I think you might not realize at this moment?
