The PCA is an illegal treaty. Especially if it takes 4 years to withdraw. And especially if it wasn't approved by Congress.

Obama cant keep his mouth shut

A year and a half ago, the world came together in Paris around the first-ever global agreement to set the world on a low-carbon course and protect the world we leave to our children. It was steady, principled American leadership on the world stage that made that achievement possible. It was bold American ambition that encouraged dozens of other nations to set their sights higher as well. And what made that leadership and ambition possible was America’s private innovation and public investment in growing industries like wind and solar – industries that created some of the fastest new streams of good-paying jobs in recent years, and contributed to the longest streak of job creation in our history. Simply put, the private sector already chose a low-carbon future. And for the nations that committed themselves to that future, the Paris Agreement opened the floodgates for businesses, scientists, and engineers to unleash high-tech, low-carbon investment and innovation on an unprecedented scale. The nations that remain in the Paris Agreement will be the nations that reap the benefits in jobs and industries created. I believe the United States of America should be at the front of the pack. But even in the absence of American leadership; even as this Administration joins a small handful of nations that reject the future; I’m confident that our states, cities, and businesses will step up and do even more to lead the way, and help protect for future generations the one planet we’ve got.

Obama acting like the World President again. Your One World Borderless Government will not be a reality. Americans voted for Trump. Not the World.

The genie is out of the bottle. Nothing Trump can do stop the momentum. Big corporations invest in the long term. They prepare for political upheaval.

If the US does not buy into this scam, for economic reasons, other countries will need to drop it as well to stay competitive.

The backlash of giving American taxpayer money to rich people in 3rd world countries is astonishing. It is a money scam.

www.npr.org...

$100 Billion

"To help developing countries switch from fossil fuels to greener sources of energy and adapt to the effects of climate change, the developed world will provide $100 billion a year," NPR's Christopher Joyce reports.

But that amount is identified as a "floor," not a ceiling.

"Developed countries won inclusion of language that would up the ante in subsequent years," he explains, "so that financial aid will keep ramping up over time."

Another Obama Legacy: Americans Will Pay Billions for a Useless Climate Agreement

www.nationalreview.com...

Unsurprisingly, the sum of many pledges to do nothing is: nothing. When the Massachusetts Institute of Technology compiled the pledges and compared them with its own preexisting projection, it found a temperature reduction by 2100 of only 0.2°C. When the analysts compared the pledges with the projection created by the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change back in 2000, they found no improvement at all.

He (Obama) committed the United States to lead the transfer of $100 billion in annual “climate finance” from the developed world to the developing countries that are pledging nothing. The Obama administration concedes its own policies are unlikely to fulfill its own pledge.

The treaty was signed by only Obama, the people or in legal terms the Senate, never even voted on it. The people were not represented, it is taxation without representation the most un-American of all dirty birds.

This makes Trump a true American Hero and will go down in history as such even if he doesn't do another thing.

Obama should have been impeached for bypassing the Will of the People.

Big corporations invest in the long term.

The same big corporations being used in many of the "Trump is pandering to corporations" accusations I've seen the talking heads make in criticizing the President's wise move to back the US out of this farce?

Which is it? Once cannot have their cake and eat it, too.

You're forgetting that a mere 18 months ago, Donald J Trump was one of those big corporations who understand the value of long term investments.

Hence the renegotiation to properly protect the environment without America paying for all of it - a long term strategy is called for and Trump is now in his element to negotiate.

Unless countries don't want to renegotiate?

Obama already gave away $1B of taxpayer's money without authorization.

The Obama administration ended up shipping $1 billion in taxpayer dollars to this fund without authorization from Congress.

It's gotta really suck to construct an entire argument against someone on the back of "evil big corporations" and then be stuck using them and their investment strategies as literally the only crutch to keep your argument on another issue from toppling over onto it's face. That's what we are enjoying watching today...

He's pandering to companies that want to rape the environment, like drilling in the artic and our federal lands, in my opinion. He's paving the way for a corporate land grab.

But, the big corps have already invested in low emission and the most energy conservative technology. This sudden policy change, because of Trump's temporary chaotic reign, won't change their long term plans. The next president can come in and change things again. They're above the political fray. They do what's best for them, in the long run.

I live in the Arctic. The North Slope oil fields are more clean, pristine, and we'll cared for than any Indian rez or Sierra Club adopted stretch of highway in this nation. 99% of this country's reclamation science and spill prevention technology has come from those "environmental rapists" and they were developing them before the feds even mandated it.
