Being poor is easy. Especially here in America! You can start by living in a place that is half (or more) than you make a month. Everything else will nickel and dime you death. And that is if you stay healthy.

Me, myself, and I, are living pay check to pay check most of the year. I really have to try hard to save money. And there is the rub: materialism. How much is enough? Does this Ducati make my arse look big? My mansion needs a painting so I should just buy a new one and move. Versus, "being poor is a virtue"! Uhm, having enough to eat well and occasionally have fun or travel should be where we all start. But it is not. And there is always some bastid who wants what is yours.

The love-hate relationship most Europeans have with America, uh, I mean US!!

The experiment with universal income in Finland did not work out. I think that maybe it could work in a closed system but a whole nation is asking too much. Yeah, I have no idea where the balancing point is or how to get there. All I can offer is a "hang in there" as life seems to turn in cycles. One of your turns should be "a turn in the right direction" as they say.

I'm going to Italy! First Rome, than Pompei and then I walk (Yes you read that right) to talk to Etna. Tomorrow (Fingers crossed) I'll be organising my ticket and I won't come back.
The plan is to cross the mediterranean sea in a rubber boat, fleeing basically in the opposite direction to the masses.
That should be interesting. Who knows maybe I will even make it to Egypt? Going home... like in a "looking for the roots" kind of way.
Get it? "Out of Africa" I'm going back to Africa. But without a real schedule, just enjoy the way.

And if that sounds crazy to you, you don't even know half of it.

The quarter you provided sounds impressive!

Take a real boat. The wine dark sea can be a b1tch even to experienced sailors. A few hours between Spain and Algeria, silently crying as it sinks in what you are doing, would be a better way to go. Leaving it all behind is tough. But so are you. At least make it off the continent to the next one!

Well to be perfectly honest, I haven't really planned further than Etna yet. Might also make an Odysseus memorial trip and swing left to Greece.
But Germany and particularly Bavaria have become unbearable for me. They're having a new law put in place by tuesday, where the police is allowed to take preemptive measures. And I feel already surpressed here. I won't stay, I can't.

So to go with the spirit of my avatar "I'll go wherever the music takes me kitten."
