Those climate accords are like countries getting together to pitch in and get some insurance against a catastrophe that is going to be really expensive to avoid (hopefully)...

I wouldn't expect most people to understand, as they have insurance for everything and claim to hate socialism or something like that...

If you're an environmentalist and you really want us to switch to green energy across the country, you should be against subsidizing today's green energy production companies. The technology wasn't ready to go commercial yet, it's not economically viable. All the money we've spent subsidizing them has only resulted in a small percentage of our national power production being green, with a negligible reduction in the impact on the environment.

All these years, instead of wasting money for little to no positive effect, all that money could've been spent on R&D trying to advance green energy technology to the point where it is efficient and economically sustainable. Then more companies would start producing power that way and more people would be able to afford to switch to it, no subsidies needed.

Long term its better if we stop subsidizing these inefficient companies today and invest more in research/development so we can actually afford to make the switch in the future.

Well, there won't be a renegotiation, it is either commit to the made agreement or walk away from it.

The Trump administration did the latter as we all know.
Those who are familiar with the paris agreement, know that there was and is no question of an unfair deal for the US.
According to art 4.2 of the agreement; each party shall communicate their Nationally Determined Contribution. (NDC)
Hence any commitment to contribute has been put forward by the US government itself. (if they already did so, that is a question)

It's exactly like Trump said, this agreement isn't about the climate, it's about other countries taking financial advantage of the United States. The United States is, and will continue to be the global leader in clean energy. The US does a far better job with emissions than these European countries trying to rob us. Liberals can't get past their America hate to see the truth of the situation.

Here's a funny that's somewhat related.

Thom Hartman (radio talk show alarmist) says that some of the new diseases are the result of Global Warming.

1. Ice Melts near North Pole.
2. People up there who died of hideous diseases and froze in past cetnruies, are now thawing out and rotting.
3. The diseases are being released into the atmosphere and carried around the world by the jet stream.
