Hello and good morning, afternoon, evening, and/or night to everyone depending on your time zone.

Sleeping is well is something that I just can't seem to do no matter how much I try. Last night I went to bed early for me but one of my cats decided that I needed to be awake at 3 AM. I tried sleeping after the rude awakening but it just wasn't there for me to do.

Other news from the files of the Blue Dude, I'm out of 5 of my medications. The Pharm. is still waiting on Dr. approval to refill. Next week on the 5th I go in for my heart catheter testing. I'll be going into the hospital on the 3rd for chest x-ray and blood work too.

As the Shed is an international group I thought I would share today's holidays from around the world from Wikipedia.

Christian feast day:
Martial
Theobald of Provins
First Martyrs of the Church of Rome
June 30 (Eastern Orthodox liturgics)
Armed Forces Day (Guatemala)
Asteroid Day (International observance)
General Prayer Day (Central African Republic)
Independence Day (Democratic Republic of the Congo), celebrates the independence of Democratic Republic of the Congo from Belgium in 1960.
Navy Day (Israel)
Philippine–Spanish Friendship Day (Philippines)
Revolution Day (Sudan)
Teachers' Day (Dominican Republic)

Okay, either I am that bored or I have lost my mind. It's nearly 90 degrees with a heat index of 90+ and I'm out watching trains in it.

Neither, rain, snow, heat, or asteroids falling can keep a dedicated train watcher away from the trains. I've been there too.

Understanding Grief

The American Cancer Society has a very good page on explaining what is grief, what a grieving person goes through, and how to help this person. I came across this page not looking for what they had there. Just my luck of finding it I guess. The page brings back too many memories for me to share more on right now. Once I have dry eyes I'll explain with the help of the website what has and is going through my mind.

Peace to everyone.

Hello Blue. This in response to your post on grief.
I soundly believe we in our society have rejected and neglected this most important emotion. We have become conditioned to reject any feeling that isn't uplifting and happy.
To me this is detrimental to our well-being, we must honor all our emotions.
Grief and sorrow have their own unique pattern, I have found they can persist over months, years and decades. When grief surfaces for a long lost loved one, I cherish it, I hold it in my heart as a little Hello from the 'other side'. I relish, in private, in recalling that being.
To me it is a private intimate moment, I just 'sit' with them, talk to them or let my self be held. I know they are 'here'.

Get some sleep or rest if you can.

Just a little philosophical note.

I find this a 'truth' that I don't really appreciate. I know change is essential, but I refuse it, rebuke it in vain.
Because it just happens, and I must realize I can't control everything.
Darn it, I wish I was the sole dictator of my life.

Hugs to all and to all a good night.

Agreed, society doesn't allow us to experience grief in the proper way. They want us back on our feet to pay more taxes.

Take care. Sleeping is about to happen for me.
