Appeal to emotion! Bring a child into it and people lose their minds.

Maybe if Melania actually lived with her husband like every other normal couple Barron would have known it wasn't really his dad because he'd be with him.

He's the President you numpty! The cognitive dissonance here is epic...

In my opinion, this thread should have never been started in the first place. It's just fueling the division.

You're missing the point Kayla, I'm not, nor have I been defending or making excuses for either side.

My initial point was quite simple. Both sides are wrong and it should've ended right there. That's my point. Why the need to deflect? Read this thread, people are making excuses and deflecting, going as far as saying it's fake and a PR stunt.

Believing a story isn't real because it's on a Hollywood news website and uses anonymous sources isn't deflection, it's the smart thing to do.

Letting yourself be led by emotions into what to believe is a guarantee to be fooled.

Wow, the lawsuit that Griffin will have to defend then pay up will ruin her, good.

And it just goes to show how out of touch with reality Dems are, Al Franken says Griffin can recover easily from this. Hahaha all the best lawyers alive are probably climbing over one another to get to the Trumps to sue the living crap out of the stupidest woman alive.

Well in OP's defence, I don't think he was trying to be divisive with this thread. But I agree it IS fueling the division.

Ignore the fake news claim, and there are still plenty of other deflection's here.

One would think... but I'm betting some entertainment lawyer somewhere will find some case law about "creative license" to try to excuse/justify it.

BS! I don't believe for one second that Baron Trump thought that was really his father's head!

Nevermind, it's not worth it.

It's part of the problem - yes.

She did it. It was bad. People on both sides denounced it. She apologized and admitted it was wrong. It's over. Why start this thread now?

It is an excellent thread displaying so much about the progressives.
Uncaring
Selfish
Greedy
Their Anti-Americanism overpowers all their sensibilities that would normally guard ones wellbeing.

You just know Griffin never once thought, I hope their kid don't see this. If she had that one thought at any time she would not have done this heinous act, not because of compassion but because of fear of lawsuit/loss of income.

Actually, I think it's fair to say your very first post in this thread claimed both of those points from that quote so dunno what your'e on about.

I'm not saying Barron hasn't seen gory sh!t, in fact I stated that already but when he sees the bloke who is no doubt his hero as a bodiless bloody head, different story!

As far as Melania's apparent "overreaction" the one you said no one had claimed it as such and then described it as exactly that with the next 4 words of you reply, I'm a father of 2 and I know beyond doubt my kids would freak out at seeing something like that and maybe I'd be wrong to do so but I'd certainly react in a more animated way than she did.

Overreaction or not, I'd still say it's a completely normal response from most. I think this whole "publicity stunt" angle is a load of sh!t...

Nope sue the living out of her.

Baron has a case, he has been traumatized. There are plenty of professional well paid lawyers who could prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt, and make them even more rich and famous in the process. The very fame and fortune that blinded Griffin will be the driving force of her downfall.

I have a hard time believing that Griffin didn't know what she was getting into.

I mean unless she was MK Ultra-ed into doing that photo shoot then surely she knew that this was going to blow up one way or the other... and that's likely why she did it.

All press is good press. She will now be known for doing this. Whether or not it's in poor taste is kind of irrelevant... these are the actions of an attention whore.

The only way this will become a satisfying story is if she actually get's in deep $h1t with the powers that be. Otherwise it's outrage porn.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

I see a thread of righteous anger directed against an idiotic bitch that took things too far on one side. On the other side I see anger against the angry by a bunch of insecure progressives because they realize said loudmouthed bitch's little stunt represents yet another huge push away directed at the mainstream and centrist American voter. It's gotta really suck watching your own people be the worst enemies of your political sect, ya? Recognizing that idiocy like this, like rioting progressive larvae in west coast college towns, like re-electing the same massively unpopular candidates and party figureheads, and like having to regularly choose between defending their shock commentators and publicly apologizing to the core of America for their antics is exactly what you can point at in 2018 and then again in 2020 when the elections come and go and the establishment left discovers "Oh God, it got worse, we are STILL losing seats!!! What is causing this?"

Save this thread. Save every thread where defense of ANTIFA occurs. Save every thread that contains a groupthink exercise of felating the entitled little brats that take over college campuses while making political demands. Save the threads that whoop and holler over Stephen Colbert making an ass out of himself. Save the threads that are little more than back patting and glad handing over how great Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, and Chuck Schumer are. Save them all because they will tell the story of why mainstream and moderate America views the establishment liberal machine as a leper colony and flees from it in droves unless and until it resumes being what it once was: a kinder, genteel, more humane form of politics.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

It doesn't matter if Baron Trump thought that it was his father's real head or not--it's about the emotional impact that seeing that can have on an 11-year-old.

It doesn't matter? According to the article it mattered to Melania, who is reported to have said her 11 year old son believed it to be his father. I guess it would have been okay if Barron would have seen an image of his father's burning body hanging from a tree by a noose? It was okay for Sasha and Malia, right?

Hypocrite! Your selective outrage is showing.

But claiming Melania overreacted and claiming the boy wouldn't have batted an eyelid is beyond deranged.

No one is claiming that. But, Melania DID overreact, if this story is to be believed. First families don't use their own children to thwart free speech. Michele Obama never resorted to such banalities, and I'm sure their children suffered from public displays of lynching and burnt effigies of their father's image.

Some people are very protective, even overprotective when it comes to their family members. I fall into that category when I perceive an attack on my family. My partner and I have had many disagreements on that. I am quick to come to her defense even online. She, however believes that most adults can defend themselves and rarely jumps in to defend unless it gets really ugly. I didn't vote for Obama but I really wouldn't have blamed Michelle if she had shot some of that crap down. I'm not saying she doesn't defend or support her family. More than likely she falls on the "stand and defend yourself" spectrum. Some of the crap thrown at the Obamas was vile and I wouldn't have blamed her if she had gotten defensive.
