Hi guys, just a quick one.

I'm streaming Trumps attendance at Arlington. It's streaming here:
.

Is it customary for the flags to be inverted at this event or is this something unusual?

If anybody knows, please reply. Thank you.

Broken video link.

Inverted (upside down) flag is supposed to be an SOS isn't it?

Flying the American flag upside down is an officially recognized signal of distress.

Here is the relevant part of the US Code of Laws regarding how to fly the flag when in distress:

THE UNITED STATES FLAG CODE
Title 4, Chapter 1

§ 8(a)The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.

Are you talking about this with the flags hanging vertical? Vertical is not upside down.

This is an upside down flag, did Benghazi put the flag upside down, not that it would have mattered.?

That's what I thought. All of the flags are upside down.

I am seeing vertical flags, not upside down.

If this is the same footage you are watching?

Same as these.

It is because the people doing it do not understand what it means. They seem to think that by flying the flag upside down they are making a statement that the nation is in trouble because of something. When in actuality is the only ones whom should be in trouble are them for mistreatment of the flag under USCode 4, which is an enforceable law.

Reasons to fly a flag upside down . . . a hostage situation, an imminent attack situation, an uprising, etc... But all would indicate that a physical location is under duress and are in need of help.

NVM - I was unable to see the vid and pics before, but previous statements still apply.

yes, vertical is fine

Just being displayed vertical, perfectly normal.

Displaying the Flag flag hanging over street1. When the flag is displayed over the middle of the street, it should be suspended vertically with the union to the north in an east and west street or to the east in a north and south street.

Rules for displaying an American Flag

Thanks for the reply. I know there are many patriots here so I thought it was worth asking.

The flag is inverted to signal 'distress' or 'danger' .
