“However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.”
― George Washington

I have a problem with the words George Washington and Patriot going together.

Washington was a Colonel in The British Army. He showed no patriotism toward Britain. In fact he was a traitor.

Agreed, a traitor to Britain, but a patriot to the US.
Perspective matters with GW.

"By George we did it!"

There's a reason that saying exists. If it wasn't for his Patriotism, we wouldn't have a country.

People were genuinely surprised we won. It was an amazing win.

You're wrong actually.

In 16th Century England the saying " By God We Did It " was deemed blasphemous.

So it was changed to " By George We Did It "

Exactly.

Washington was a patriot when it suited him.

He got his arse in his hand when he was refused a full commission in The British Army.

So, "By hook or by crook" must be a saying inspired by Hillary then?

There it is - a thread about George Washington where 'someone' brings up 'Trumpkins'.......didn't take long.

Some on ATS - you never, ever, fail me (too).

*Coughs* This thread obviously came to be because of Trump's alleged patriotism and alpha maleness.

Britain is one of the worst countries to ever exist in this world when it comes to pure corruption and absolute insanity they take the cake, spreading their genocide around the world. Royalty is a concept that has no place in an educated world, the only people who bow are slaves.

That is without seriously analyzing the "royal" family and their connections to the infamous Jimmy Saville.
