What? Another gift? No wonder North Korea can't feed itself, or barely... They keep getting "gifts" ready for the evil Americans, wasting all that money...

I have no idea how old you are, but this sort of rhetorical excess has been on-going, virtually non-stop for the entirety plus of my life. When I worked in Alaska, way the Hell out on the chain, we used to tune into both North Korean and Soviet state radios, english language versions... The Soviets had the best music, and their news was so carefully slanted that if you didn't know you were listening to Radio Moscow...you'd swear it was a midwestern radio station. Radio Pyong-yang was, how shall I say it...not Radio Moscow.

To say their propaganda is amateurish would be an understatement.

My guess is this, when they stop being loud and obnoxious then it's time to strap on the armour...'cause the (hashtag's) about to real up in there.

The Carl Vinson will be returning home this week. She drops the USS Michael Murphy at Pearl Harbor today on her way home. Nimitz is currently nowhere near Korea.

Doesn't really matter. 1984 we were on Gonzo Station in the IO. We made a speed run and were in Singapore in 6 days. The Independence was an older conventional carrier then. She was running on a bent shaft that made the stern feel like one of those vibrating beds. Nimitz is a nuke and a bit faster. The only problem would be her escorts keeping up with her. If there is another carrier on station and some thing happens, I can see the Nimitz doing a speed run and being covered by the other carrier's escorts until her's can show up.

I know she CAN be. The point though is that we've heard "Three carriers off Korea" or "Three carriers heading to Korea" for weeks now from the media and other sources. We currently have one near Hawaii, heading back to the West Coast, one off Korea, and one that still hasn't arrived there.

Come on Zap! It's the media. When do they get military things right?
