And yet just yesterday we had a thread, nice and rant-ey, explaining how the Democrats had stolen this election and the Republican was "almost certainly" going to lose.

Weird.

Well, 2 of the State's newspaper retracted their support for Gianforte after the assault on the reporter.

Then there's this:

Nearly 40,000 Missoula County residents have already voted absentee and did so before the alleged assault occurred Wednesday afternoon in Bozeman. Several dozen of those voters on Thursday morning called the elections office wanting to change their vote.

However, Connor said, doing so is not possible.

While voters cannot change their absentee ballot, those who vote at the polling place could be influenced by Wednesday night’s events, though Connors expects to see only 5,000 to 8,000 voters arrive at the polls today.

Like most places newspapers are whores to the whims of their masters and they make little matter to the free thinking public. Lots of free thinkers up there.

The declining readership and profits of newspapers have made them desperate and they will print anything to become relevant again. Unfortunately for them it's a death spiral, the more sensational their reporting the less their credibility and there is only so much market for the National Enquirer.

you can't make this stuff up.

Greg Gianforte, who is the GOP standard bearer in the upcoming special election in Montana, owns just under $250,000 in shares in two index funds that are invested in the Russian economy to match its overall performance. the Montana tech mogul owns almost $150,000 worth of shares in VanEck Vectors Russia ETF and $92,400 in the IShares MSCF Russia ETF fund. Both are indexed to the Russian equities market and have significant holdings in companies such as Gazprom and Rosneft that came under US sanctions in the aftermath of the Russian invasion of the Crimea. The holdings, while substantial, make up only a small portion of Gianforte’s wealth. The congressional candidate, who made a fortune starting a software company which was later sold to Oracle, has assets estimated to be worth between $65m and $315m, according to his financial disclosure.

You know it...I know it...and we all know how these despicable Russians operate.

Q: How does a guy whom has just broken an innocent reporter's glasses...after shoving him within an inch of his life... one day before the election...beat his clearly superior Democrat challenger so handily?

A: The Russians

Do we have any evidence the Russians influenced the outcome of this election?...Well, no,...but that shouldn't stop us!
We all know they did it!

I think that most people understand that the Montana election outcome is a prime, yet rare, example of one of the only flaws associated with early voting.

I have enough faith in the good people of Montana to believe that had this incident happened prior to the start of early voting, the outcome would be entirely different.

It may not have meant victory for the democrat, but I'd bet this guy wouldn't be the state's new representative either.

That being said, your attempt at using the Montana election to mock the current FBI investigation into "Russian interference" is pathetic, to say the least.

Especially based on your all-knowing claim that we have "no evidence."

Truth be told........Unless you have some kind of special security clearance that allows you to view highly classified intelligence intercepts of conversations between foreign dignitaries and/or U.S. persons, then you haven't got a clue with respect to what evidence may or may not exist.

And please don't try to pretend that the only way to influence an election is to rig ballot boxes or manipulate votes, that would be even worse than pathetic.

Another sad attempt to deflect from THE RUSSIANS.
Give it a rest.

LOL! Yes, its SHOCKING that "newspapers" would whore out endorsement retractions, presumably pressured by the evil powers that own and lord over them, after a candidate whose being investigated for ties with sanctioned Russian entities by a newspaper, beats up that newspaper's reporter!

Early Voting.

Though some estimates say nearly 70 percent of voters have already cast their ballots (early voting is common in Montana),

Hey! Get your common sense and logic out of this propaganda thread! We wouldn't want to accidentally deny any ignorance do we?

you think the GOP is going to want him to stay if he is convicted of assault?

It's not going to be the Democrats. Republicans won't want to give him a seat after he's convicted. The evidence against him leaves little room for doubt of that.
