I always see you around and the majority of the time I agree with what you post. At least when I don't agree, you give me a decent position to oppose from. You do good work.

Who's watching the watchmen?

Everyone is watching, there is just no accountability.

It will likely get worse before it gets any better.

I appreciate your sentiments Antipathy17.

The way I see it, we owe the subject matter the respect it requires, in order that we learn something worth knowing from the discussion.

The DNC is a private party.

Correct the Record is a private party.

ShartBlue is a private party.

You have this backwards. It's the corporations that share their collected data with the alphabet boys at NSA, CIA, FBIA, DIA, etc. Take your pick on the acronym. They all do it. This is the reason companies like Google, Verizon, AOL, ATT, Yahoo, Microsuck, and any other Internet/communications company has "lack of privacy" policies.

I think I got it right. I know a fact, a corporation *cough* Xerox *cough* had access to government information, a totally closed and independent system from theirs.

It was for tax purposes however.

NSA cannot be shut down they are above the laws of the land.

Fact be told, no one can hold the NSA accountable because, they have the dirt on everyone.

Liberty has a cost.

Pay up.

Nope. Liberty is free. It is security that comes with costs.

Nonsense.

If you have such security that you are at minimal risk, the cost is your liberty. The cost of liberty therefore, is that one must limit the security provided by governments, states and nations, relegating a significant portion of that responsibility to the citizenry, absent any organisation or element of governmental control. That is all security as you know it today amounts to. It does not protect your liberty and your rights nearly as much as it damages them, despite its stated aims being the opposite. This you cannot fail to be aware of, so why would you argue against it?
