The Guinness Book of World Records has devolved. It's basically a pay to play organization now.

I've seen all the videos of the Flyboard that are available. Kinda funny how there is no third party footage you'd think there'd be a TON of videos of this thing but nope.

I don't know why this is so hard to believe. We live in the age of tomorrow. All you need to hover is thrust = weight.

4 engines at 60lbs thrust = 240. The man the suit and the rig wheigh (i'm estimating here) around 200 give or take. That leaves plenty of thrust to hover him around. The thrust to weight ratio goes up as the fuel is expired.

This is real.

Also for your consideration.

The US Army did this in a much uglier fashion back in 1957 with the VZ-1 Pawnee

Or how about the Williams X-Jet? circa mid 1970's

Could fly 15.5 miles, or about 80,000 feet in ten minutes.

IF it's not a joke / hoax.

This looks very cool. I would love to try one of these. It almost looks like a DIY project.

Is it possible with off the shelf?

Thanks for the info, I'll suspend disbelief for now.
That Williams X Jet is pretty cool.

Need to be very fine control, micro fine even.

Might even be there do dissipate heat, coz that about all 120mm fan can achieve.

You see the payload/person is the issue, center of gravity and all that jazz.

Wow! That`s pretty amazing. I`ve seen this guy in the news before with the water powered hover board he developed. The fact he is designing this new one for the US military is worrisome. The new one has a totally independent propulsion system. That means a sniper could quickly swoop down, knock someone off, and be gone before anyone had time to fully grasp what just happened. Death from above would take on a whole new meaning.
