Photographs of the ruck sack and detonator appeared in the New York Times before they had been issued to the UK Media according to The Observer, causing the Home Secretary Amber Rudd to rebuke the US Officials who she believes has leaked the information.

Apart from the obvious rift it will cause between the two countries (UK and US) in sharing sensitive information, I cannot think of any good reason why anyone (US or anyone other country for that matter) would leak such information. Disclosing this information early only helps the terrorist's associates (and possibly the NYT circulation).

Is there a conspiracy here? Or is this just sheer greed of an individual?

You really have to ask why leak it.... very suspicious

How is it an America media outlet gets all this info BEFORE our own media ?

The same happened with leaking the bombers name which probably had some affect on the effectiveness of the services doing their investigations into further cell members.

The hell is going on ? Who's leaking this information, it's clearly someone on the US side of things

Reminds of when the BBC reported building 7 had fallen and you could see it in the background.

IMO all these US leakers are traitors to their Country. It's one thing to leak alleged information about someone's character...it's a whole other ballgame to leak Confidential, Secret, Top Secret and Top Secret Compartmentalized information...the latter three which, when compromised (leaked) could or would cause seriously grave damage to the United States.

At the rate these journalistic clowns are going, the US will be odd man out in ALL matters of world security issues. While I think the US is strong on its own, with no intelligence sharing from our allies (because of the never-ending leaks) it will just be a matter of time before the incidents start happening On US soil.

there's something wrong with people. What makes anyone leak anything. This is coming from government employees, surely. The swamp can't get cleaned up fast enough.

One solution might be to trim the workforce in the federal government by 25% at least. Maybe even 50%. With so many redundant departments and staff that don't give a sh$t, it should be relatively easy to clean up.

The wholething stinks.

The scumbag had terrorist written over him in neon lights.
He recently returned from syria, has a extremist hate preacher as a father, glorfied terrorism to friends and neboigbors and displayed the ISIS falf on his house.

He may as well changed his name to Terrorist McTerrorristface .

And this was reported to the police months before.........yet he was alliwed to walk free and conduct a terrorist attack.

I have a hard time believeing that our police amnd MI5 are that stupid and incompetent.

Its like our goverment just let it happen.

But then the way the whole thing after has been bumbled and fuffed? Maybe the UK government is that incompetent?

Another thought... the press is completely out of hand too. Why would they even print it? It's kind of like trying to solve the illegal drug trade. Do you go after the dealers or the users (leaker vs. printer)?

It's almost like the spying are being spied on, all of them.
They either have lots of leakers or a very good eaves dropping system in place.

These recent leaks seem to be more about creating mistrust against the US internationally and its abilities to keep secrets. Just my take.

We have a serious problem in our intelligence community. They never are prosecuted even though are committing crimes, so they don't take it serious anymore. Until they jail some of them at the highest levels, it won't stop.

It's been obvious for some time that certain media have deals to not say certain things.. in return they get scoops to give them that air of credibility.. that air of credibility is then in turn used by the spooks to frame stories they want..

It's fun to watch unravel.

The media in general needs to be reined in somehow. Im not smart enough to figure out how with regards to constitutional protections and whatnot but there literally has to be some accountability. It cant be the wild wild west. Its out of control.

Everyone wants to be first. Leak? Why call public information a leak? They're just butt sore because the NYT had the first run on the pictures, probably moments before they planned to show them. Tell me how this first move was a danger to the UK or somehow diabolical? Keep the focus on Terrorism and not use red herrings to distract from the truth.

Christian hating, Western civilization hating, UK hating, Islamic Terrorism.

Not to worry in no time all the good Islamics will be out hugging people at the flower/candle ceremonies to prove all Islamics are huggable, loveable and just downright innocent and fun loving. Take what I have said however you chose, but know that there are many White Bald, Nazis who are just as huggable, loveable, innocent and fun loving who I am certain amber would have LOVED to had drawn and quartered had they been the group killing innocent children and concert goers.

A poorly planned murder spree imo, a perfect example of cowardliness and lack of intelligence to hang outside an event filled with 10's of thousands to only to take out a small percentage of the celebrators. Yes, a chicken and a coward.

The idea of intelligence communities as an asset for a country only works if you assume they are allegiant to the country.

They aren't and it needs to be fixed.
