So I imagine this to have a country/rock kinda feel which is weird because I actually intensely dislike the sound of country music, haha!

This's for all of you.

Start with the word start and just go from there,
Don't stop if you feel lost just carry on
You'll find the road again

Just walk your feet along down that trail
Don't wipe the dust off of your feet
Or shake them out to the wind

When everything is gone to hell
Just keep on wandering

When your sick and tired of being in the well
Just keep on wandering

Pick up those feet yeah one at a time
Don't stop but if you do
To find the road again
All ya have to do
Is keep on wandering

Till you come hoooome,
To the place where you belong
Where the magic breathes
And the fires always on

Just carry ooooon,
Keep your head held high
Breathe alight the flame of hope
Held since the dawn of time
The sacred flaaame,
Lost to a thousand days,
When the night was storming
It softly carried on

The rage!

Like a creeping madness,
this dread boredom seeks a way
to destroy the very world
In a thousand days!
Malice and ignorance

When you are on your knees
Praying for deliverance

Rise Up!

It's already yours all you have to do
Is claim the right

To fight!

For the very way you live your lives
Inside!
And from within
This very highbrow society

Ignite

The light hidden inside
Your Mind!
The only one that can stop
you is you, because
Freedom is a thing held inside,
Like everything that's a right

So get up and write your song
Or right your wrongs
Or pick up your tongs
Whatever you have to Doo,
One thing that won't change is the fact that
We are each lost in our own maps after all

It's time for us to set things straight!
It's time for us to take control!
Of our own lives, for the way we treat the world when we feel trapped inside
Break free!
From the clutches of depravity.
Use your words!
They taught you the alphabet so use it to scry
The reasons why
or the way to abide
or peace of mind
for all of mankind

So just tell me what would you Doo,

If I told you that all it took is a simple song
That you, hold inside and release from your mind
Giving birth to thoughts on the page that tell you what to Doo,
To unify!
To dwell in light!
To breathe in hope and truth,
And not have to fight!

So just, take your pen and, release the hand
Because it already knows what to do,
You know that you're connected
With the world when it
Takes control
And the only thing that you have to do,

Is come to the page and listen, to every word and write them
You can always come back another time
Just get it out,
Because the, hardest part of any journey is the departure

So wave goodbye!
To the false convictions held inside
To the cluttered mess you called your mind
Say hello to peace and light
Welcome it to find
A long lost friend
Back from the very edge of time
Where you almost lost your mind

So just, let go because you already know exactly what to do
When life's full of hatred,
And everyone,
Is so #ing wasted,
On bitterness
It's like every time
You get just what you need to survive
Until you dont!

No because that's #ing stupid
How could we live
So full of death
Nd expect to have fun?
At the expense of everyone!

Reveal the things you have hidden inside!
Let them grow and you will find
The time has come
We are the ones
We have waited for
(So say goodbye)
(And welcome to the fight)
(Say hello to the light)

A bit chaotic, but inspiring nonetheless.

Thank you geki I'm glad you liked it!!

I was like 'hey she just commented and left!" Lol I knew you had just forgotten. The reason why I couldn't/didn't edit is because this was an experiment. I was really struggling to find inspiration and so I was talking to myself at the beginning, start with the word start and go from there, don't stop of you feel lost just keep wandering. It works as if I'm talking g to someone having difficulty in life, but really I'm talking about the writing process. So the parts that were chaotic and drifted off topic and back again, I couldn't really edit out because they were what was validating my song in a sense.

That's perfectly ok! Partly the intent after all! Chase them you'll never know where they lead...

You are a great writer Lucid, don't worry about a thing! About the star and flag thing...You have no idea how many times I forget to star and flag someone's thread and post and then go running back to leave them. Sometimes even days later. LOL
Sometimes I am busy and running around from here to there or get distracted.

Wonderful song Lucid. I think you must have reached into my mind for the style of music and most of the words.

Hey Lucid!
I just loved this!

This is one that I read when I was not logged in, and I told myself to come back later and comment (and S&F).

I read it as a rap song, actually.
Not sure why, and I don't love all rap...but there are some when I can hear/read the words and I think the song is just amazing. This is one of those. (hope you don't mind my version)

I'm glad it's not all rhymy like some people do (like myself, hahaha....)!
I think it's really cool when I can read a poem or song that doesn't rhyme, but there is still a rhythm to it that almost feels like it's rhyming, know what I mean?

Most excellent, friend.

No rapping allowed!
It's okay though that's what's awesome about written word, like art it's all up for interpretation even the style of it. Lol there were some rhymy parts, it's those that I saw as being rock. The first part to me just sounds like a country song.

In all technicality though it is a rap song, a freestyle haha. Glad you like it I'm gonna gather up some links for you here now.

I'm laughing here, lol.
There's a line in the movie The Wedding Singer, where an old drunk in the bar says, "Sounds like a country song to me!" and that's what I hear in my head when I read you writing that.

I always wonder with songwriters whether they write the melody/music first or the lyrics.
A lot of songs don't read like they would be the music genre they are, so it really is in the eyes/ears of the audience sometimes if there is no music accompanying it.

Oh, and thank you. I'm trying to get caught up on what I missed when I was offline for a few days.

As for the melody/music I've written enough songs and poems I consider myself a songwriter haha. For me sometimes I'll hear a beat and just start writing to it, like the first one you'll see in my thread the poetic shill. Can provide link to the song if you'd like. Other times I'll just start making a song in my head and find out it goes to a beat I already have on my phone, like one of the ones that's scattered inside despondent resolves replies. Most times though the song just comes with no musical companion though I do have a certain beat I imagine it following when. I write it

It doesn't really surprise me that you write songs.
So there isn't a process that you go through, it just kind of happens...?
I can understand that I guess...my son is a musician and so is his father.

I'm glad that you're sharing your talent here with us. It amazes me how many very talented people there are on this site. This would be the last site I would have imagined finding artists and writers, lol.

It always just happens to me. Like, I'll be doing something and I'll just feel this kind of weight and I know I have to write and so I do and I just write something really cool. Those are the best times that's how Fires of Inspiration was born, that's how I wrote I lucidwarrior, and to answer the call. Other times, I'll feel that and sit down but nothing happens. That's how this one and a few others are born, when I just decide to keep pushing through, because I know personally that as long as I keep the pen or my fingers flying the words will come. Sometimes it's a helluva struggle and sometimes you just have to walk away and live more life.

I can only think of a few times where I would say that I actually made a song, as opposed to writing a song that just came to me if that makes sense. Even this one, I was struggling with it but I never really wrestled with which word to use, just on hearing. Those ones are just fragments though
