LAKE JACKSON, Tex. - A woman has been indicted on negligent homicide charges for allegedly giving her husband a sherry enema that killed him.

Michael Warner, 58, died last May after the enema caused his blood-alcohol level to rise to .47 percent.

Ok, this is a little too weird even for the Doc here.

Oh, wait a minute, was she stupid enough to use the "good stuff" for this?

If she used anything better than cheap cooking sherry, there was definitely a punishable crime committed.

I saw this on the news. I'm sure she had no idea
what she was doing would kill the guy. It's just
too strange for even a made for TV movie, isn't it?

I thought he died from a fetish thing after reading the quoted text but I see it was alcoholism instead.
It shows how serious alcohol addiction can be.

This is really pretty sad. It does show how bad the "addiction" can be. Instant, intense "high" without failing an "oral" testing for DWI.

they should have used a Buttweiser light instead.

or another route of administration, I heard members of some famous rock formation used to IV Jack Daniels, I thought it was an urban legend at the time, but after reading this and about alcohol snortings bars, nothing surprises me anymore

Well, i am off to the mall, shoplifting some Listerine "for personal hygiene"

apparently she burned his will a few weeks earlier. at least that was what I saw in one of the news pieces.

more importantly, if he were driving at the time, would he have passed the breathalyzer?

if someone asked him how he was feeling would he have said drunk off my a**?

Doc, you're absolutely right; a sherry enema is truly a sick perversion in this day and age.

You can get an excellent cabernet sauvignon (Rosemont Farms '02 for all you Australian oenophiles) which is excellent with flank steak.

Culture has left us behind; what will be next: Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill?

Sadly, I am reminded of Yeats:

"Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world...."

This might be worth it.
"
Sacristia de Garvey Flor del Museo Cream

The Sacristia de Garvey line is made with a blend of wines that are of a minimum (not average!) of 20 years old, and go back as far as the solera does. The Flor del Museo Cream Solera was started in 1860. This wine has very generous, smoky, walnut like, raisined aromatics. This is a very concentrated wine that does not go over the top and become heavy. It is decadent and elegant at the same time. The finish is long and nuanced... A masterful Sherry! -Gary Westby, K&L "

But I'd like to taste it the old fashioned way..........

Better behave, Dr. Horacid, or I'm coming over with MY bag.

Goes to show what an addiction can do.

I always thought sherry tasted like doo-doo anyway (is doo-doo okay with the mods?)....butt seriously, I thought in some countries they give vodka enemas??...maybe they do vodka and tonic enemas so it's not so potent?

Personally, I'm a recovering alcoholic and have been sober for 5 years...and never heard of this practice. I'll have to bring it up at a meeting. I'm sure it will get some laughs but also scare the, parden the pun, crap out of some people.

He'd still be blowing ketones in his breath and register as drunk in a breathalyzer.

Bizzarely enough I have heard of alcohol enemas before. I didn't know anyone actually bothered to do it.

I bet this is not the only instance of it either!
