If we have an asteroid belt, maybe this star is encompased by numerous asteroid belts. Asteroids belts or rings composed of demolished planets and asteroids.

Someone installed a dimmer switch, and is playing round with it?

Interesting, to be sure.

So, its acting wierd again. And I am still surprised that after so many years no one can explain why this keeps on happening but this time could be a breakthrough. As telescopes all around the world zoom in on this star maybe we will finally get some answers.

It's so many light years distant that it will take years before anyone can draw any reasonable conclusions and even then, unless we've developed FTL transportation we still cant be certain.

They've ruled out many possibilities though by way of infrared which is encouraging.

I hope we have seen a type 1 civilization and that we can set up communications.

Suddenly, every single stars dimming are now alien Dyson spheres megastructures.

And, oops, it so happens that the new Alien: Covenant movie is coming out.

Hm. Nah, must be a total coincidence.
