Come on you are better than that - see the difference, its sound's more than wanting - operative words being "I" not simply "wishing". Sounds like "intent" to me

“I would like to behead him,”

It's just wishing thinking.

I had hoped that Hillary would get stung by a jellyfish so I could apply urine as a cure.

Right, it's the game of what ever's fault.

This is the kids fault, and the schools fault for giving him/her a venue.

I am not 100% convinced it was a student that did this.

Yea, clearly beheadings are common in society. Kid must see them frequently on their way to school.

The languages used indicates outside influence and kids are literal knowledge sponges. I'm not placing blame only asking a question.

I would expect this from students-in 1987 the seniors at my High School almost got AC/DC have a drink on me as their class song.

Kids/young adults are stupid. The staff are supposed to be at least smarter than the students. In this case they were not.

Such a contrast to the seniors in my small town high school...they had Kenny Loggins' 'Danger Zone' as their prom theme.

True story.

“I would like to behead him,” one student declared. “I do not like him.

What is the outside influence here? Are you saying the "child" said this because of ISIS?

That is the question I am asking, yes. I'm not claiming anything.

Do you not find the language odd?

Year before my senior prom had Istanbul (Not Constantinople)

Those in charge of my class had far less whimsy and picked Stairway to Heaven.

No, the words have been around for a long time.

I would guess this is a stupid 16 year old that is just being 16.

Talk of killing a president is illegal, and is not protected free speech. Whoever said that, and whoever allowed it to print, is legally liable. Hope they serve time.

My senior class damned the creek running through our campus so thoroughly that the backwater flooded part of the Commons building... Maybe we shouldn't have used the tarps over the bales of straw??

Oops.

A page in an annual pales in comparison to several thousand dollars worth of damage... To say officials were...displeased, would be an understatement.

All speech...up to a point, is free, or none is. This didn't reach that point, save for the beheading thing...that's very questionable, and I've gotta wonder about the level of hate that would make that seem like an acceptable thing to say.

You make that sound like a bad thing.

I'm not sure saying the President of the US should be beheaded is typical...

I mean, we had Reagan, who wasn't exactly popular with the 17-18 year old crowd...I don't recall death threats in HS annuals.

You just forced me to use that meme once again:

Todd Starnes? Seriously? He has been fired by his conservative counterparts.
