Well, clearly the countermeasures already in place functioned well, as none of the seeds were damaged, the containment area was not threatened.
However, in order that access to the vault is not hampered in the same fashion in future, retrofitting of various systems, including pressure locks,
airlocks and the like, may well be necessary. Its also worth bearing in mind, that the assumption, when this vault was constructed, was that there
would have been a significant effort to mitigate against the threat of climate change, which of course has not happened in anything like the necessary
globe wide manner in which it would have had to, to make any difference what so ever.
But I do agree with you that objectively, this could be seen as quite a jape, if the ecology of the future was not the thing being threatened.
