White House Lawyers research impeachment

CNN) White House lawyers have begun researching impeachment procedures in an effort to prepare for what officials still believe is a distant possibility that President Donald Trump could have to fend off attempts to remove him from office, two people briefed on the discussions tell CNN.

White House officials believe the President has the backing of Republican allies in Congress and that impeachment is not in the cards, according to the people briefed on the legal discussions.

Even Democrats have tried to calm impeachment talk out of concern it is premature. But lawyers in the White House counsel's office have consulted experts in impeachment during the past week and have begun collecting information on how such proceedings would work, a person briefed on the matter told CNN.

We must note that everyone thinks that this is a currently distant possibility, but this is reminiscent of the entire Clinton impeachment scandal.

Let's see how this all plays out, shall we?

"A person briefed on the matter"

Either Trump needs to fire every staffer at the white house or the democrat media needs to come up with some sources.

Probably many things, but the clearest article of impeachment so far is Obstruction of Justice.

What many people do not understand is that Clinton and Nixon didn't get in the trouble that they did over the underlying acts. It was the cover up and obstruction that took them down a notch.

I'm not going to argue with you about obstruction of justice, because at this point the mens rea is practically there. That's not for any of us to decide because we aren't officials in this case and only a few of us happen to be actual attorneys (and that still doesn't qualify anyone to say that anything is 100% obstruction).

But to answer your question:
Obstruction of Justice.

This is good because we can have a clear understanding on how things might play out.

We are witnessing treasonous and traitorous liberal media outlets that are eliciting great harm to our President in the form of "free press and free speech". It isn't working.

This is from CNN, yawn. I don't think it goes up very high on the real news scale.

Whitehouse sources say Trump visited the Ecuadorian Embassy in the middle of the night. Additional former U.S. officials with knowledge of the events say he has already had assurances from Russian authorities he can have a villa on the Black Sea.

Doesn't he have to obstruct justice first?

Unless he officially ordered someone to stop investigating, and they actually stopped investigating, there was no obstruction. A friendly "go easy on the guy" comment is not obstruction, no matter how much of the context you leave out to make it so...
