Because they'd have to survive impact, and they've been fought against because if it turns out to have been pilot error it opens up big lawsuits.

Planes crash for number of reasons - mechanical problem, weather, pilot error, etc

Methane gas is not one of them - it has never been proven that methane gas caused a crash

I agree with you. This could be anything. I was just suggesting what the Bermuda Triangle theory was.
