Perhaps some people require this plant every couple of months?

I don't think anyone knows the answer to that one.
My gut feeling is that it may be helpful on a recurrent basis to detraumatise, and to deepen the initial experience.
Clearly the first coupe of trips need some supervision, and to use it in a therapeutic setting requires a therapist- to talk through, or reflect on difficult issues.
The depression studies in humans do show some tapering off of effect after 6 months.
However that may be due to some of the social problems entangled with the depression.

It is clearly not a matter of danger though:

Very interesting when you consider those relative risks and what they mean.

I was going to correct you on that, but I thought that might sound too uptight

However you are right -- it should be a RIGHT of passage too.

Psychedelics are already an accepted treamtent for such conditions for certain cultures and people and have been for thousands of years.

So, yes. Just going through a bumpy time in western medicine since the 70s. I'm sure they'll eventually be accepted in conventional western medicine. Gotta be better than using ECT, for instance :/
