visit a few presidential libraries, search around the net for recordings. you might be surprised at what youll find. heres a newer one for you

“There is no evidence that I have seen that Reagan audiotaped any other closed-door non-public White House business,” said Doyle.
It appears you may be correct and there are some secret recordings out there. However I think the statement you made, "the entire whitehouse has been mic'd up for decades", exaggerates a bit.
