The Saudis and the Iranians are in a serious rivalry over the Persian Gulf. They have been getting more and more confrontational. The Iranians have numbers and the Saudis have had wealth. The Saudis had been buying western equipment and primarily American until rather recently.

That had changed and the Saudis are increasingly looking at other sources.

One of those sources is now...themselves.

The Saudis unveiled an unmanned combat aerial vehicle. It appears to be a predator/reaper class bird.

And life just got interesting...

PS physics doesn't care what color your flag is.

It's only a matter of time until anyone with the money, or brains, is developing their own UAVs.

So did they produce this themselves, or was it made from the Chinese UAV factory they agreed to build in SA??

They better hope their pilots do not suck at flying these as bad as their guys on the ground confronting the Houthis, otherwise they will just use them for target practice..

The FT-9 was developed by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) for its CH-series UAVs, which are already in service with the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF). The M-4/M-3 shown in the video resembled the CASC AR-1 laser-guided missile.
