I explained in my post above.

Then why did we remove the pledge allegiance from the school system? Is it because it had religious connotation? Liberals decried that public schools should not individualize religions. The 'in god we trust' was too much for them. But now, it is okay to pander to religions to show them that we respect them as humans and allow them freedom. That is nonsense.

I am not religious, but this is all double speak lately. This is insanity. The way to show freedom to kids...is by simply being American throu and through. Kids are not stupid, they see what is freedom, they may be restricted because of their parents...but eventually, they are able to make their own choice. By creating safe zones, they are separated and actually shown that they are not free. They are special...is all is tells them and they will expect to be treated even more special down the road.

Buddy are not all walks of religion free to express there belief in your nation?

If the School in any way celibates Christmas or any other Christian orientated festival they i cant see how this is an issue.

It is after all just a Muslim orientated evening for young Muslim woman and not some Jihad party or recruitment scheme.

Fine.

Then there should be allowances for all religions and beliefs.

Look at it this way.

The school is encouraging-

Sexism-religion-segregation-discrimination.

As long as the girls have fun though....right?

Whoa way off topic. But anyway we have two situations:
1) Normal prom with Muslim girls without hijabs (or with) dancing with boys. Total freedom. This is a huge no no for Muslim parents and can be dangerous.
2) No party for girls so they can stay at home. Tough sh!t. No freeom.

This is a compromise giving the girls SOME freedom.

Clear now?

As cultural mores have changed, so has the prom--begrudgingly. An Alabama principal was sued in 1994 for threatening to cancel the prom if interracial couples attended. And despite the two South Dakota boys who in 1979 became one of the first known same-sex couples to openly attend a prom, some schools still have anti-gay bans in place

content.time.com...

if different cultures are to remain peacefully
we have to tolerate others beliefs
our issues with each others cultures
shouldn't be taken out of proportions

if your worried about the rise of the Muslim faith
its because the news is working you up about it
we sell death and misery suffering
because we want your attention

if the girls are truly are at risk
then the law of that government
has a duty to those citizens
Christian Muslim Jewish Hindu

I dislike all religions equally.

I think those of Islamic faith are duty bound to definitely not attend a prom where LGBT folks attend....which would also be the same Normal Prom we are discussing and saying that all should be tolerant of all and attend equally not separately.

So....you were saying?

There is and always will be religious fundamentalism at play but that's more down to the distinct lack of logical consistency religious interpretation follows and is open abuse around the globe.

End of the day crazy people who believe in Abrahamic sky gods are always going to at odds with one another on one level or another.

Truth is they may as well fight over whats best, purple or pink, because it makes as much sense.

One day some closet, radical, freedom-loving muslims are going to welcome some kid to town who loves fighting and dancing and riding tractors.

He will fall for an Imam's daughter (who really isnt that hot) and the Imam will hold town meetings in an attempt to stop these free-spirited youngsters from dancing and force them from seeing each other.

In the end, Kevin Bacon will win the hearts of everyone and there WILL BE A DANCE-OFF!

I agree even if i don't share the same views, simply because with out such freedom of religious expression the world will be a far more draconian place to exist.

No, the parents practice it.

The school would be endorsing it.

Public schools do not celebrate Christian Christmas! I have not seen mangers, angels and baby jesus in schools for years. They have Christmas celebrations, but they are definitely not based on any specific religion except maybe pagan traditions. It is a holiday celebration for all.

So one has to wonder why we must devolve and start pandering to one specific religion? History has shown that many countries that were vibrant and beyond their times...(Iran and Syria, ect.) began to make allowances as such and look at them now! Women covered and shamed. Sharia law imposed.

It always starts small like a tiny virus in a cut. Infection leads to death if not treated immediately.

The school is segregating these girls-separate dance no boys-

The school is doing all this because of religion-

The school is treating these girls differently than the average girls-

Their parents are following their religious beliefs.
