It's a weird feeling when you realize that you're out of the loop and a bunch of birds have decided that you're interesting for some reason.

Thanks for the story.

Probably mocking the crap out of you for not showing up burning some weed as usual.

Remember what exactly you were thinking about? I used to have quite a few nice half-telepathic chats with birds, especially mockingbirds, while high on shrooms. Those pesky dinosaurs always seem to have a great time all the time, plus they somehow figured out how to read my mind. Kinda scary in a very funny way.

Living in the extreme western edge of the Texas Hill country, we see that type behavior on occasion. Typically that behavior is associated with migratory birds, flying through in flocks and "bugging", i.e., they're intensely looking for bugs to eat; they will also swarm sources of water for bathing and drinking.

Basically..........they're refueling. They eat the bugs and are typically gone in a day or two. And yes, they can get a bit aggressive.

Sorry but you really sound like someone who needs to get out in nature more and observe.

Every single word you said points to the birds seeing a snake somewhere. Pretty common around here, happens all the time and just because YOU can't see one doesn't mean the birds can't. All different species will congregate in a tree or bush and go bonkers until the snake either flees or the birds give up.

It's also mating season for many birds.

The only thing out of the ordinary is you, your concrete buildings, and your poor situational awareness. (From the birds perspective)

Nothing to worry about... go about your day.
