Called it. Hmm i completely forgot about the 9/11 angle. F#ck does he know something that could damage the US as a whole and not just Trump.

No. He knows something on Hillary most likely . Something he has to avoid . Ever think Trump did Comey a favor ? I do , and moreso with this thread.

Of course he knows all about Hillary but i think there is a far more sinister reason why he might be incapable of spilling the beans. If he told Trump anything concerning 9/11 then his life is already over. Comey could bring down the whole Obama administration and the administrations before him. My theory is that Comey struck some kind of deal with Trump but instead of crucifying him for his betrayal Trump managed to flip him. That's why both parties wanted him gone. The SIC hearing about Comey was all for show.

What if Comey wants to testify about a subject that has nothing to do with russia. Is it possible for a person to show up for a hearing and just change the subject? Would he still be allowed to testify or would they kick him out? I'm pondering the idea that Trump and Comey hatched a plan to bring the Clintons down without tipping them off.

He'll get subpoenaed and testify under oath.

^^^THIS

And that's exactly how it should be.

Right up to the smug smirk when he answers, "I plead the 5th."

To what question(s)?

Does it matter? If they ask the questions like in the hearings i watched before then Comey has to plead the 5th 3 times for one question alone. The SIC hearing was a pretty good example that the members shouldn't write their own questions. Some of them didn't even made sense.

Please cite your sources for Comey pleading the 5th! Comey has never pled the 5th in any of these hearings!

Because he no longer has access to the investigation, is still required to comply with classified info rules and laws and any communication with the president is privileged.

He is probably confusing the times where Comey has stated he cant answer specific questions with a 5th amendment invocation. Not sure if he understands when Comey says that it means the answer would require him to divulge classified / restricted information and that he cant answer in a public hearing.

But you are right Comey has never plead the 5th.

He has now agreed to testify in public.
How much can he really say?

Not much without getting in trouble.

My guess is he will use the forum to refute all the claims made by Trump / white house.

Okay i guess there is some confusion i need to rectify. I never stated that he pled the 5th before but he probably will in the upcoming hearing. Sorry if that wasn't clear enough.

This is a good thread to add this update
James Comey has met with Robert Mueller to discuss his testimony to congress and Mr Mueller has cleared him to do so.
He should be in sometime next week.
Remember he wants an open forum so we can all watch.
