My gods! Why can't people simply ignore things they don't like?

You could go back in time to Nazi Germany and ask the book burners that. I wouldn't recommend it though, they might throw you in the fire.

Like to see this crowd show up at a ball game and start tearing down the American flags around the stadium.

Safer to hate on 'officially' disapproved symbols.

This pisses me off a great deal. Because of one idiot liberal, a store has to pull merchandise?

Thats all it takes? Smh, well this only embodens me to fight them.

They absolutely did, why do you think they went to war over it!

If we lose, then it is absolutely considered a symbol of treason to this day.

We just kicked their butts enough where they had no choice but to except it..

Oh so we see the Union Jack as treasonous...got it!

What?!?

Do you know the definition of treason????

How exactly would the group that rebeled and won , consider the ones they rebeled against traitors???

Oppressors maybe...

Overlords, I guess..

But treason and traitor has literally the opposite definition..

It's called the free market..

If the government isn't involved, it has nothing to do with over reach... it is people deciding what they want and are cool with.

I think a way closer example would be to go back and ask the Jews if nazi flags should still be allowed to fly in Germany..

Guess what ? It is still illegal today..

Why?

As a symbol to the world they reject that ideology..

Sadly people would still like to hang onto the ideology of the confederates and segregationists..

Do you have any idea what you are talking about?

Free market? ...thats unrestricted competition between private businesses.

It is people deciding what they want and are cool with? If you don't like it, don't buy it and carry on.

Please educate yourself, you're a fool.

Comparing a symbol of pure oppression and slavery to the rainbow pride flag? A symbol of nothing but inclusiveness...
Stopped reading after that to be honest.

It isn't a fair comparison, but I think it symbolizes gay rights, not total inclusion..

Yah states rights of self determination is over rated.

Here, and overseas... lulz.

But go head on, burn the 'other' flags if you feel compelled, it is one of your freedoms in the land of the free.

The whole "I'm offended" thing stems from a coordinated effort to indoctrinate people into thinking that being "American" is being "white" and oppressive.

This is how they view OUR country...

I remember when I thought I knew every damn thing.

"Our idea is simply to combine the present battle-flag with a pure white standard sheet; our Southern Cross, blue on a red field, to take the place on the white flag that is occupied by the blue union in the old United States flag, or the St. George’s cross in the British flag. As a people, we are fighting to maintain the Heaven-ordained supremacy of the white man over the inferior or colored race; a white flag would thus be emblematical of our cause."

From the horses mouth..

Protest is always fine.

But protest to take away the freedom of choice from others is not.

Then it becomes an infringement of rights.

I'm still trying to figure your "free market" angle.

Explain yourself for all to see, don't ignore it.

Yes, and until a few crybabies piss and moan about it, they still have that right. But apparently it only takes one soiled diaper to get everyone else to cater to their demands.

But keep smiling, eventually, they will get to something you care about. I doubt that would be enough for you to grasp the big picture, but at least you would be left with that really stupid look on your face.

There were no black soldiers who fought for the confederacy..

At the very end , when they had already lost, they created one black platoon that never saw action.. they claimed it was volentary, but conscription was also considered voluntary.. and we all know how voluntary conscription is..

The confederacy DID NOT want to arm their slaves.. exactly like dark ages Europe didn't want to arm their serfs..

Their main fear was slave revolts, because there were millions of slaves, I think even out numbering whites..

Which isn't a new thing...

Almost no society was "stupid enough" to arm the populations they are using as slave labor.. obviously people don't like being slaves and are just as likely to kill you and join your enemy.

But even that

I think you are setting up your point as if " pro confederate flag people" are the average, when there are far more anti confederate Americans , than the opposite..

Hell even the OP was quick to throw disclaimers in about not personally likening it nor flying it.

Because the swastika definitely doesn't symbolize hate either..

No the Swastika does not symbolize hate at all. The NAZI flag may, but not the ancient swastika at all. In fact it is on many government buildings in South Korea and many other asian countries, and is an actual character in Japanese, Chinese, and other asian languages.

I have one tattood on my back . Nobody gives me grief at the beach, park or pool when I have my shirt off, EVER.

The Confederate flag is a big deal in this town in Brazil, they have festivals and traditions around it apparently.

I think people should be free to sell and purchase a confederate flag.

Yea.. war is definitely not hell, and the confederates were ONLY ever honorable combatants and didn't touch one little hair on a civilians head....

Name one conflict where atrocities were not commuted by both parties..

Was it grant or Sherman who said..

"Thank his war is hell, if not we might grow too fond of it.."
