My point is, to believe that any of them don't lie under oath because of it's legality is the wrong stance to take. Especially where Directors are involved.

Alphabet agencies have to lie because of the very nature of what they do. The FBI is no different.

I think though there are legal ways to indicate that you cannot answer for legal reasons. Clapper did not do that. He told a bald-faced lie that spread wrong information.

Now Democrats are demanding a special counsel stating that AG sessions already recused himself and since the new deputy AG was involved in Comeys dismissal he should recuse himself as well.

Because if he refused to answer by saying he would answer in a classified setting, which is what usually occurs, would have confirmed the existence of the program.

Some articles state he fired Comey on the request of Jeff Sessions. I smell a conspiracy here and it's probably related to the Russian investigation.

Nothing shady about this at all, especially after Comey was just in the limelight recently. The Trump is hiding something, which is obvious to anyone who doesn't support him, and now he's doing his best to clean house because he thinks this will protect him from being found out.

Seems Comey is the one who has something to hide or hiding something for someone. I guess that's just the other side of the coin these days.

Comey did not have to be removed for Sessions to prosecute anyone involved. The AG / DOJ is technically over the FBI (along with the DNI). Charges are at the discretion of the DOJ and not the FBI.

Yes, but Comey could find more flimsy reasons to NOT recommend Hillary's prosecution.

This was a last ditch effort by Trump to derail the investigation. This BS will only bring down more heat on him. Stupid...

I think it will. He can fire Comey all he likes, but Comey wasn't the only one investigating the case. In fact, numerous different agencies are involved in this. He can't fire them all. Well, he could try, certainly. But would fail.

He might have just shot himself in the face with this move. Good. Nothing screams "I'm guilty" like this.
