President Donald Trump has fired FBI Director James Comey – a move that comes as the FBI is probing potential contacts between Trump’s campaign aides and Russian officials ahead of the election.

"The president has accepted the recommendation of the Attorney General and the deputy Attorney General regarding the dismissal of the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation," White House press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters.

It was not immediately clear exactly why Comey was ousted.

Just caught Spicey giving the news to the press that the Attorney General made the recommendation to the President that he take this action.

He was working for Clinton all along. His coming out a week prior to elections were planned. So was the second "all clear" announcement.

Well...that certainly wasn't unexpected...i was wondering how long it would take.

Guessing his reolacemt will be going after Hillary and also guessing Comey is just the first to go....will be interesting to see who goes next....

This almost certainly is because the director blatantly lied to the Senate Judiciary Comte. last week, creating a serious issue within the FBI trying to clear the record. He may well see charges filed against him for lying under oath, too.

Doesn't matter....the 3 letters are gearing up for round 2.

Some articles state he fired Comey on the request of Jeff Sessions. I smell a conspiracy here and it's probably related to the Russian investigation.

Nothing shady about this at all, especially after Comey was just in the limelight recently. The Trump is hiding something, which is obvious to anyone who doesn't support him, and now he's doing his best to clean house because he thinks this will protect him from being found out.

I doubt there will be any charges. What he said was clearly not true but for it to be lying, there would have to be intent. From what I heard earlier, it sounded like he misspoke.
