National Anthems

This particular version moved me. 'Hope' was rekindled. The spirit flamed.

Yet I'm sure there are other version, yes, other anthems of different nations that cause similar responses.

If you feel so inclined, link to a version/anthem that moves you similarly.

This is not an anthem but is used, often, as a replacement for the anthem. It is sung by a 'non-citizen' and 'moves'

It's only a matter of time before they are more or less banned. Nationalism across any soil is out (in the West anyway). Those songs will have a historical value for what they meant at one time, but that time is fast passing.

For any that disagree with me, I offer the example of my own views on a couple of songs. One is the 'Hallelujah Chorus" and the other is "Ava Maria." Both beautiful songs to my ignorant ears, but mean nothing to me in a personal connecting way of any substance because I'm not religious.

It's taken generations to marginalize religion in this country and even that has only been, as you say, about half the nation. The nationalist 'religion' is much farther behind and it's degradation process is much more recent. I would even go as far as to say that it's on a resurgence, in both camps, to some extent.
