please dont apologize for anything you dont actually regret. its a faux pas. same goes for loving because you are commanded to. is that really why the question is so important? because you need someone to remind you to be loving? surely there is more.

Sometimes you're to smart for your own BVDs
But I do have regrets and I still apologize.
I most definitely need to be reminded to love on the
level that Jesus showed the world.

seems a little disingenuous, doing the right thing because its noble or its the rules and not because you want to go to heaven.

Agape, Phileo, Eros and Storge'
All four are brought together by the God given sacredness of marriage.

See that victory is over my man. so there is nothing disingenuous about love.
Not that complicated at all.

im a big subscriber to the philosophy of "wise compassion". compassion without wisdom is suffering, and wisdom without compassion is apathy. the sweet spot is somewhere between the two. anyway god is the most important question in the universe because god reminds us to love. and where does that prove that atheists have no answers? i can imagine an atheist saying "if you want love, then be it". sounds like a pretty good answer to me.

if you love for selfish reasons, then i would argue that it might be just a little disingenuous. like doing someone a favor and pretending to not expect any reward for it.

I just want to know why God doesn't heal amputees!

Other than that, the rest sounds believable.

That's intelligent, why don't you pray on it?

Because of the millions of people before me who have, presumably going back as far as the 3,000 or so years God has allegedly been there to answer prayers.

The data is in. God doesn't heal amputees.

He has a hand in making them though, apparently.

Cheers, randyvs.

Oh wait you didn't let me infer the fact that God has a new body
waiting for the faithful.

it's all about patience and hope brother.
But don't let me ruin your delusion.

I think genetic illnesses, or diseases which cause agony and horrible deaths to innocent children are a more telling example of of a god with ideas of horror.
He/she invented them as creator.
I wouldn't invent such things if I was a universe creator, for sure, that would be nasty in my opinion.

Yes death is a nasty affair. Blame God if you choose but we were warned dude.
That analogy is pure ignorance.God doesn't make things that die. Sin brought
death and amputations.

Oh I see. Lol.

Well let's hope all those young men God had torn up by bears for teasing Elisha went on to find the Lord. The survivors that is (if there were any).

Exactly.

Terrible suffering before death for innocent children though, I wouldn't invent that if I was a god who could do anything while dreaming up the new universe I was creating.
Yep small child, experience this torture I created and keep faith in my love and when you die you will get the reward.
...seems pretty sadistic to me devising such a plan.

Indeed. There is so much about this God and the Biblical narrative, that is an example of anything other than an all loving merciful deity.

I definitely feel omnipotence and omniscience carries some responsibility for innocent children.
Only a # of a god would think differently, in my opinion of course.

imagine if all the love given by people
to stone idols
to a Messiah
to any deity
in any kind of worship
was given to each other instead

See that's the big problem with atheism isn't it?
It makes your wrong, misguided, ignorant, unthankful, arrogant opinion supreme.

Atheism is ignorant to the your own limitations both physical and knowledgable.

I'm just sharing an opinion. I think an omnipotent and omniscient god is a bit sadistic if they invent terrible diseases for innocent children as part of their universe creating plan.
Do you disagree?

Atheism is not ignorance. Though there are plenty of ignorant atheists.

Fact is a lot of us atheists or agnostics, are former Christians. Through our thirst for understanding, we asked questions. Those answers often lead to uncomfortable realizations. The truth indeed, set us free.

Rands, if you want to live on patience, hope, and faith, by all means brother.

I myself cannot disregard and faithfully wave away the plethora of information that reveals Christianity and the Biblical narrative (likewise Judaism and Islam) are not representative of the reality.

It is you, and others like you, that insist on ignorance on this topic.
