Soon clinics throughout the South were distributing contraceptives to Blacks and Margaret's dream of discouraging "the defective and diseased elements of humanity' from their 'reckless and irresponsible swarming and spawning" was at last being fulfilled. From Margaret Sanger, The Pivot of Civilization (New York: Brentano's, 1922) 108.
How about one of several meetings with the KKK? Sanger’s 1938 autobiography, pages 366-67,” Always to me any aroused group was a good group, and therefore I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan at Silver Lake, New Jersey…After three hours I was summoned at last and entered a bright corridor filled with wraps. As someone came out of the hall I saw through the door dim figures parading with banners and illuminated crosses. I waited another twenty minutes. It was warmer and I did not mind so much. Eventually the lights were switched on, the audience seated itself, and I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak.”
And this quote from National Public Radio. “She also talked about birth control being used to facilitate "the process of weeding out the unfit [and] of preventing the birth of defectives." www.npr.org...

the idea that if a women doesn't want to get pregnant, she should just keep her legs crossed never did work out too well, did it??
people should really take a look at how the poor and unwanted were treated in the early part of the 20th century with it's poor houses here and work houses in england and realize that women being given control over their own reproduction via birth control probably played a large part in seeing these atrocities vanish.
ya, we still have foster homes, and we still have children who have no foster home to be place into, and we still have children waiting for adoption, but it's nothing like the horrors of the past.
You're planning on being a parent but not right now. Hmmmmm

They already have been receiving record numbers of donations in response to the GOP's shenanigans for months now.

Nope. And frankly, sex is enjoyable. Anyone should be able to enjoy sex without fear of unwanted pregnancy.

This is true on a global scale. When women have the opportunity to be educated and to be able to have income for themselves (work) and when they have access to good medical care for themselves and their children, they choose to have fewer children. This is one of the things undone by defunding "Let Girls Learn" which helped girls in poor areas of the world get to school.

It's still a pretty sad situation. Only a small percentage get a good foster home and good parents.

That's not how it works. PP provides medical services to the poor. Donations help but tax dollars are king. Do you also want to take away Medicare/Medicaid and monies for the disabled? You know, the downtrodden and unfortunate? Do you have no empathy because you feel like you're paying for everyone? Are you just as outspoken against gov't waste, giving billions to the already bloated military/MIC, and corporate welfare, you know tax cuts for the rich?
Or do you just attack the poor and disabled?
