I didn't think he was suggesting a universal system.

I took it as he dared to say that the US system isn't #1.

Of course it isn't #1 in anything except cost.

Yet another pathetic display of unadulterated ignorance on the part of dumbass Donald Trump.

He had no idea that Australia had publicly funded universal healthcare, he was just going through the motions of the normal ass-kissing ceremony he performs for all foreign dignitaries in his presence and this time he stumbled on a bit of truth.

Almost qualifies as a "Freudian Slip."

The other day, I heard him say that he was a "details oriented person" when nothing could be further from the truth.

He delegates the details of every unsettled issue to anyone other than himself and then demands immediate success and personal praise.

In the event of failure like that of the Yemen raid, he immediately places all blame on the people he delegated to solve the problem.

In the Yemen raid case, according to Trump it was "the generals" who were responsible for losing one of our Navy Seals. How pathetic was that?

I don't think he knows the details of anything. Hell if I'm not mistaken, he just found out this week that Abe Lincoln was a Republican.

Donald Trump is a "Praise/Glory" oriented person who kisses the asses of those he deems to be important in hopes that they will reciprocate.

When he actually stumbles on something truthful during the process, he completely amazes himself.

He did not say govt taking care of things, he said he didn't believe in profits from the listed items.

Profit is the thing that is left over after everyone and everything is paid.

what other industries are "wrong" to make profits?

In my footer is a book link. It spells out another system based on needs and wants. The needs should be met by society and the wants / desires you need to work for.

Unbridled profits are simply wrong but humanity has lost its humanity.

It would makes things a lot easier... until some yahoo gets the bright idea that because he's taking care of your every need he has power over you... but what a utopia it would be until then.

Yes it is heaps better, we all have free health care as they do in the UK. We pay more tax than you guys tho but its worth it. The ambulances in QLD are free too because we all pay a small amount to our electricity bills with pay for Ambulances. I have never understood why America thinks free health care is a socialist or communist ideal? Was it Nixon??

Thank you for the comment.

I don't think most Americans are against tax payer funded health care. I believe we are reaching the tipping point.

And in that one statement you underline what is wrong with society.

You just take for granted that water comes out of taps, that the roads are there to drive on etc etc.

Without society to provide the basics you would be dead by now.

WHat you said above, is parroting the profit driven world you live in.

That is to say, you are profit driven. Only you can change that.

"Our" health "care" system is like the ultimate disaster in greed and mismanagement.

And so is anything and everything "our" government puts its hands on. And so are our people.

We're screwed!!!

I am motivated by a personal need and desire to be self sufficient and as independent as possible. I do not want to have my home, my food, my electronics, etc. given to me at any cost to others.

I am motivated by a personal need and desire to earn my own way, to decide what MY priorities are, and determine my own lifestyle. If I want to drive a Mercedes, I know what I have to earn to have that vehicle. If I am happy with a beat up pos, that should be my choice, too.

If I want to be charitable, I want to choose which people/organizations to assist monetarily or by volunteering in some way. And I'm happy to pay a fair share in taxes....not too much, but enough.
