In case you didn't notice there are people in this thread who honestly don't care as long as their taxes go down, which they won't but that's a different discussion. I'm not going to feel bad for what I posted. I'll save my feels for those who will need it should this bill become law.

is ohio changing its laws too?

Ohio governor was proposing moving mark up to 35,000$ for gov sub on health care. Because Obama care cost to much.

Its gotten that bad where a single person cant afford HC, its like a house and car payment, that they were calling for moving the poverty rate up to 35. Wow don't know what to say. Cause if you make 45,000 you pay out your azz like you are being penalized for doing so dam good.

there is no shame in taking govt assistance
i have had to use it before
that's what its for

so medicare is better under obamacare?

glad your employment situation is ?better?
but how is it better if you lose care?
is ohio changing its laws too?

Yes, medicare got better under the ACA. With the expansion (I'm in Ohio and Kasich expanded it, at great personal political cost) more ended up on medicare and it greatly increased the number of doctors willing to accept it. As is, I can go to nearly any doctor in town and they'll see me, only a few (and dentists) are locked out.

My employment situation is such that I have a very good summer internship starting Monday. It pays quite well (I'll make more in 3 months on the job, than I've had to live on in the last 3 years combined)... and full time if I want it at the end is likely right now too, so even though I'll lose Medicare/Medicaid I'll be able to afford other insurance. I'm pretty sure the other insurance won't be as good, but it will be something. I have a low opinion of most insurance plans being offered right now though. The deductables are too high, as are the premiums.

Maybe Trump can fix that, maybe he can't. I'll take a wait and see approach to it, but I'm skeptical. I think the health insurance industry is fundamentally broken and would rather see single payer tried. In 10 years I have no doubts that that's where we'll be.

before the aca there actually was afflac cancer insurance
a family member of mine had the insurance and it worked as intended

the catch was they had to pay for it

it is called personal responsibility
they could have used the money for other things
they chose to buy insurance they may not need
i pay for that additional insurance now

what other poor choices do you propose i subsidize?

it sucks people get sick
it also sucks that people are in plane crashes
there is travellers insurance for that too

I'm judgmental of very few people. My neighbors are bad people though. I don't dislike them for their Trump stance. I dislike them for the fact that they throw loud parties every night, get into fights on the streets, deal drugs, and run puppy mills. Several of them roam the streets and steal from garbage cans. A year ago, some broke into my apartment and took everything. Some months ago, they stole an aid conditioner from my house in the middle of the night, for scrap metal.

They are a bunch of 18-25 year old deliquents. If they were black they would be in jail for lesser offenses, but they're white (and in a neighborhood that can't afford to jail people) so they leave them on the steets, hoping they eventually kill each other off.

And so we pretty much get back to the thrust of this bill. The poor deserve to die.

what other industries do you propose the govt take over?

Sanders: Thousands will die if bill passes

Senator Bernie Sanders says that President Donald Trump's health care bill is nothing more than a tax break for the rich and thousands of Americans will die if the bill passes.Text

More hyperbolic socialist rhetoric from dear 'ole Bernie. These lefty loonies always scream about tax breaks for the rich and they always get emotionally dramatic with the thousands-will-die bullspit.

Darkness has not descended. If the freakin' Dems would stay out of the way and shut up, we could get on a smooth track to prosperity, but all the Dems can do is tax tax tax working people (rich or middle class) then spend spend spend on useless stuff full of waste fraud and abuse.

They need to go the way of the dodo bird, imo.

Where in tax code does it say only deplorable pay taxes. I have been paying since the 60's.

Neat...so have I. Has your salary increased and your tax bracket as well?

Do YOU pay 40% of your income to taxes?

I DO.

I also paid $40k in child support for 5 years until I finally gathered enough evidence to prove my ex was a #ty mom. I hired a guardian ad listen and presented her with everything. I now have primary custody with all decision making rights.

What I absolutely do not expect....anyone on the liberal side of the current political atmosphere to ever understand what it is really like to fight for something you believe in an truly love with all of your being.

What's messed up is the only reason she started out with my daughter at the split was a deputy in Acworth GA that took my daughter from my arms, handed her to my ex and told her to leave....all based on what my Ex said I did.

What's happened since? I have primary and decision rights. Ex is married to a Suiper devout Muslim...they have a 1 year old son, middle name Mouhammed, and are trying to influence my daughter into religion and submission.

Now...i have tried to be hospitable and keep my heart open, but I have heard about her household from her, I have spoken to Walid 2 times since they have been together...3 years...

I can tell you this...i wouldn't trust a Muslim any farther than I can spit a 5 lb cannonball from by butthole.

Indeed...a veritable landslide! So please explain why this will be a good thing for Americans.

I guess we need something since ACA will disintegrate before our very eyes in a few years.

Well that is how the insurance game is played.

High risk ALWAYS pay more than those with moderate to low.

Again STILL can't cry foul.

Since the entire insurance game works by those that AREN'T using it paying for those that ARE.

When you have a loved one get denied health insurance due to a pre-existing condition, which prevents them from getting life-saving care, you can tell me all about the "game." Maybe you'll gain some perspective and an ounce of compassion at that point. Probably not. You'll find someone else to blame.

Overall, the direction this is going is one giant step backwards.

That's not a bad thing when you're standing on the edge of a cliff.

The problem is that the republicans had their backs to that cliff when they took the step. Millions may now lose health coverage. How courageous of them to remove a provision preventing discrimination based upon a preexisting conditions that everyone wanted to keep. The corporate sponsors will be so pleased. Please with cancer - not so much.

I'll be good enough if they just can change the name. Because that will hurt his egocentric a$$.

Now, even better if I finally can get a decent health plan.

The name of the bill was the Affordable Care Act. The republicans named it Obamacare later. Are you saying that the republicans named it Obamacare in order to boost Obama's ego? Educate yourself prior to offering an opinion. Trust me.

This only proves that insurance companies are an enemy of the people and should be shut down. Single Payer is the only way forward--- this system of greed controlled by insurance companies is f###ing evil.

You really support creating a SUPER MONOPOLY for health insurance.

That's might totalitarian there.

Canada and the UK must be totalitarian governments. Get yourself an economics text book at look up monopoly because your knowledge is limited to what you learned from the board game.
