Except in countries like China and North Korea where health care costs a tenth of what it does in the US.

Or if we ran a basic health care system like North Korea operates the hair styling industry (women get a choice of 5 approved haircuts).

As soon as you start to underwrite detailed line items like the age men can have the government pay for their Viagra refills health care gets expensive. Generates all kinds of different special interests, profit motives and expensive lawsuits.

Single payer doesn't mean you don't get doctors. Limits on refills...it would be price, but the cheapest because everyone is helping pay for your Viagra, and Betty's car crash would be the cheapest because EVERYONE is helping pay for Betty, and etc. You will have a premium, and your Viagra will cost the same as everyone else, and if you buy too much Viagra, than you're simply the one responsible for raising the previously low Viagra premium.

We Mericans all feel we are way above that commie stuff so it would take a national default before anybody in their right mind would even consider a Spartan single pay system like that.

Expect the Republicans to take ride in their bill offering and lets see what the Senate is made of.

Take a look at Cuba. They have one of the best systems in the entire world.

When did Michaeal Moore enter the thread?

Got any more propaganda?

Can you address what I said, or is this the best you got?

Perhaps you should step out of the echo chamber and subject yourself to new information.

You really want me to address that snip that the anti free market folks keeps rergurjitating as awesome?

Fine I don't give crap what another country does.

Second.

It's about as an epic false equivalence that one can make.

Comparing countries that have entirely different socioeconomic POLITICAL systems.

Not to mention this disparity in population as well as the varying degree of currency rate exchanges.

Your making a comparison that has NO RELEVANCE.

I still can't get over how restrictions on insurance is "THE STATE OWNING EVERYTHING".

The analogy is rocks to apples.

Obamacare lies that eventually led to it's own demise:

If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor.
your plan won't change.
Your premium will be less than your cell phone bill.

so who will set doctors pay or nurses pay under a universal system?
why should the govt be in the business of telling a dr how much they should make?

The rocks to apples analogy.

Is trying to compare the us to other countries when the us has more people on government ran healthcare programs than most European countries entire populations.

Definitely more than Cuba.

And you think they're not going to lose votes by passing something worse? The AHCA as it exists now primarily only benefits white males of at least the middle class. Two groups it's going to hurt the most are women and the working class. Two demographics that were key in getting Trump elected.

Sir, Obamacare was a ton of useless crap that was really expensive, with a restructure in subsidy that was SIMPLY AMAZING as proved by many other developed nations, that saved money.

Republicans DENIED the part that was increase in efficiency and blocked single payer and have nonstop meme laughed for what is soon to be a #ing decade. Republicans need to get the # over your stupid joke. Yes, EVERYONE knows it sucks without the part that increases efficiency, and obviously spending a # ton more money without actually addressing the part that was DENIED is a problem.

Insurance, Insurance, Insurance

Coverage, Coverage, Coverage

Government, Government, Government

Taxes, Taxes, Taxes

This is the mantra I hear in one combination or another.

Not one iota or cognitive mention about healthcare itself and just why it's so damned expensive.

All I'm hearing is "Muh someone should pay so I don't have to"

Whether it be by insurance scheme, single payer scheme (government) increased taxation (government) or some other supernatural economic law defying snap your fingers holy grail coverage.

Let's just ask a stupid question,

What basis is used to set insurance rate?

A. Provider costs + OH&P

What determines cost of single payer system ?

A. Provider costs + beauracracy cost.

What determines coverage cost?

A. Provider costs.

What determines tax load?

A. Provider costs.

Anyone notice a common theme here.

Seems provider costs might be an issue.

Anti trust laws are on books for this abuse and the industry is not immune.

But what the heck seems people enjoy going in circles over insurance coverage, increased government and higher taxation all the while getting severely ripped off rather than getting to the crux of the matter.

I'm thinking most don't or don't want to understand the fix.

What would you do with Iowa, which had it's last major Obamacare
Provider pull out, leaving Iowa with no options....

You can spout gibberish, sure. Much easier than dealing with facts.

Obamacre had failed already.

I did not say that. I asked you to address what I said without deflecting or making reference to tried and true Right Wing boogeymen.

It's about as an epic false equivalence that one can make.

You're the one that brought "commie states" in to this.

Comparing countries that have entirely different socioeconomic POLITICAL systems. Not to mention this disparity in population as well as the varying degree of currency rate exchanges. Your making a comparison that has NO RELEVANCE.

Again, you're the one that brought it up. If you are not prepared for the results of such a comparison, change your approach.

It is.

What i find funny is that they scoff at the idea of the state running a healthcare program to cover all, but want scam artists to run a "free market" program that fleeces them for the money they work hard for.

So you do care what another country does.

Glad we settled that.

By the way, I did not say what you quoted. That was another member.

The point is a DIRECTION needs to be picked, it literally doesn't matter what way, single payer, or private sector, the FENCE SITTING is killing the economy, and Obamacare without the push is just another FENCE SIT. The Single payer is better but it's taking so long to convince people that demand free market be applied to even their apple sauce that single payer works better in this situation, that people literally looking after the better interest of America are bleeding it dry leaving this door open. If it gets rejected, reject it as fast as humanly possible is the only accepted 'no' answer. Pussyfoot with more subsidy is the reason we're in the pickle we're in already.
