Agree with OP that comedians get a pass when ctritcizing public figures, I DO NOT agree that the level of vulgarity he used on "network" television is acceptable. Cable, sure, go for it...people expect that language, naked folks, "sexual content"...oh, and get a warning before the show starts and when back from commercial (if there are any). This was over the top, completely inappropriate, and if he doesn't go, he needs a "vacation".
Well, then we almost have two arguments here don't we?
1. Was the term Colbert used appropriate for his venue (late-night network TV) and should he be reprimanded for using it?
2. Was Colbert's criticism of the president out of bounds and over the top, going too far?
I was wondering if it was "cooter."

So you CAN'T say the 'C' word for vagina..
...But you CAN say the 'C' word for penis?
Sounds a bit sexist.
Wait, I can't say 'cootchie'?

I haven't watched anyone at late night since some very early Letterman, before he went off the deep end.
Sometimes, you end up getting an early commute time, so staying up late to watch TV isn't a good idea, and besides, I usually use those last few minutes to read.

Sorry that I didn't see the thread as soon as it was posted, I was only commenting on the topic and OP, I'm not about to read 17 pages of people hating on each other.

Trump insulted CBS. CBS insulted Trump. And Colbert earned more viewers.
