Back in the day we use to call them $1000 words.

Due to inflation they probably cost $10,000.

They do, but you only get charged when you use them correctly.

You beat me to that one

Should probably have a Thesaurus handy too.

How would you get one? I thought all the dinosaurs went extinct?

Um...I think you meant to say that the dinosaurs were 'malodorous'.

Haven't you learned by now?

When people are being silenced for their speech, what's really going on is the silencing of the thought and ideas expressed by those words.

To some, the ideas should not be expressed. What do you think PC speech is but an attempt to stop thought-crime?

Orwell did it better though with Newspeak by simply abolishing the words that even allowed for the mere expression of ideas and since most people think in words, there is no way to express those thoughts, even to have them. This is the early stages.

Words are bad. The thoughts that spawn them are bad.

No. A free society where free speech is actually respected.

But you and I will never agree apparently.

I am here to say that Colbert should not be fired because of what he said.

And you have every right to say that, just like those who say he should be fired. Personally I'm impressed that conservatives are actually starting to exercise their free speech for a change.

Of course, that brings us back to the overall question:

Should Colbert be reprimanded for what he said? Not necessarily because there is no time and place for his thoughts but because he may not have expressed his thought in an appropriate time and place?

Of course, we can all have our opinions on that, but the arbiters will ultimately be his bosses and the ones who decide what the standards for network TV are.

I'm just promoting free speech.

It seems that even that can trigger people.

As I see it, there is only one resolution.
Execution by antiaircraft guns. ( With tracers )

( I was going to link the video, but it is pretty gross )

You can't whine about getting attention just because you don't like the manner in which the attention is given, but then turn around and keep trying to insert yourself into conversations after everybody stops paying attention to you.
