If you're fired from your job for something you said, have you been silenced in any kind of way?

No, just punished for speaking.

Why do you get to ruin someone's ability to earn money with your words? Pursuit of happiness is also an unalienable right.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

She said if an alien in a suit has a purse full of money you'll have the right be happy.

Only if I steal the purse.

Don't act like you don't think about it.

Free speech. Calling to fire colbert because of some opinion or satire is exactly the kinda stunt the AntiFa crowd pull.

Be the bigger man and let it go i say.

That is not answering the question.

If CBS starts losing money because of what Colbert said, should they suck it up or fire him?

I don't know. I would hope that they wouldn't. I would hope that they'd feel the same way as I do on free speech.

But I can't even get people on ATS to agree with me on free speech.

I'll continue to defend speech, free expression.

*shrugs*

Of course he has the right. But that's up to the company and the contract. You can get fired at workplaces for saying the wrong things and that's within company's right.

Party's over. Pack up your holsters and go elsewhere.

FTR, I hope that everybody feels free to insult any public official, whether they are a genius like George Carlin was, or a mediocre flash in the pan like Colbert.

To know who is in charge, learn who you are not allowed to criticize.

You're saying that one unalienable right trumps (grr) another?

Free speech over pursuit of happiness?

No. Literally guns don't have vaginas. I was being figurative by suggesting your gun had a vagina to grab.

Yep, but in the land of definitions there's nothing grim about saying your gun has a headache so you can't touch her.
