This is not earth shattering by any means however I did find it interesting. Putin is reported to have over 200 million in the bank which calls to mind a famous quote that goes something like, "The only way to get rich as a politician is to be a crook." Not throwing stones for evidently we have our fair share of crooks in the west too.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Several hundred Russians lined up in central Moscow on Saturday under the gaze of riot police to hand over handwritten appeals for President Vladimir Putin to quit, as similar protests took place in other cities.

Putin, who has dominated Russian politics for 17 years, has not said whether he will run in presidential elections in March 2018. But the 64-year-old politician, who enjoys high popularity ratings, is widely expected to do so.

Saturday's protest in the capital -- called "We're sick of him" -- was organised by the Open Russia movement founded by Kremlin critic Mikhail Khodorkovsky. Once Russia's richest man, he was freed by Putin in 2013 after spending a decade in jail for fraud, a charge Khodorkovsky said was politically-motivated.

Jehovah's Witnesses recently had a global letter-writing campaign to Putin asking him to please continue let their brothers in Russia gather together to read the Bible in peace. It has been estimated that 40-50 million letters were delivered to him and other high officials.

Yet there has not been one peep of this in the media.

If tens of millions of letters on behalf of an innocent people had no effect upon him. You must think what this will bring.

The number of people was only in the hundreds?

He could actually boast about that.

It is quite apparent that it is due to their use of the pen and paper. Ink is quite lethal! How dare they attack with such extremist (this thread calls it peaceful by the way) measures.

Of course ISIS tried to do the same thing, but the ones trying to write were lined up and beheaded. Because ISIS is a terrorist and extremist organization.

He has houses that cost more than 200 million.

He is worth billions. That, and a superbowl ring.

A common thug dressed up in stolen assets.

One day, as will we all, he will be held accountable.

There is no bypassing this certainty, a nightmare for the unjust.

You cannot poison God, no matter how powerful on earth you become.

Paid protesters paid for by western ngos.

Proof?

I have none. Think Ukraine and Syria but on a smaller scale because it's a lot harder to get away with this kind of thing in Russia after the clamp down on ngos.

As others have mentioned, a Western influence in these protests is quite likely. It's common knowledge they really want to get rid of him, but there's not much they can do anymore these days. He shut it all down. Fact of the matter is, Putin is here to stay.

A couple of hundred people out of many million try to tell Putin to quit. As if they represent the majority there. At least there, a small number of protestors may represent many more people, but even then they only represent a minority of the people of Russia.

In this country, with freedom of speech, a few people trying to get someone to resign is rediculous. The Far left protests with even a half million nationwide protestors is not a good representation. We do not need to worry about protesting against a president here then getting killed, unless of course their name is clinton. If Three million people here stood up from around the country in all states, that is still not a good representation, it is society gone insane.

Petition your congressman if you want them to represent you on something, protesting for reasons that are just opinions is nothing more than civil unrest. I do believe it is good to have the right to protest on real issues, but lately there are groups that are abusing that right and demeaning any good true reason to protest.

I will retain a negative feeling against frivolous protests. I will back protests that are sincere. Just because a large group of individuals is protesting and making a big stink does not mean I will back their concerns. I judge by the value of each and every protest individually and examine the reason on every one. Most protests lately are frivolous. They actually take attention away from real issues we have in this country.

Jehovah witnesses do not protest, they do not get involved in politics. They would do something like send letters, but never do a protest to call for a leader to resign. That is what I got from a couple of years of studying with them anyway. They are a peaceful group, but they will not fight in wars, something Putin does not want to see in his country. In the past here in the United States a lot of Witnesses were put in prison for not signing up for the draft or going into the army when called. This is not just a Russian Atrocity. A lot of people here in America do not like Witnesses because of this also.

Open Russia has been recently declared a foreign undesirable organization. Just so you guys know. The sooner they shut them down completely, the better.

Seems that there are way more people demonstrating against Trump's first 100 days than against Putin.

Open Russia = Kissinger and Rothschild

Navalny is the grandstanding activist who routinely voices opposition to Putin, has attempted to impeach Medvedev, and routinely holds unsanctioned protests in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The western media hail him as a demi-god in much the same fashion as Hillary and Obama.

While Navalny’s background as an activist is lengthy, starting in 2000, however, in 2014 a worthy connection was made:

In 2013, Navalny ran for mayor of Moscow pegged under the party RPR-PARNUS. PARNUS (Peoples Freedom Party) which is a liberal, social political party led by Mikhail Kasyanov, and is an associate member with the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats For Europe (ALDE)- an extreme Socialist organization. Navalny pulled out of the race after he was sentenced to prison for embezzlement and fraud.

In 2014, Boris Nemtzov, a co-chairman of the Russian “Peoples Party”, worked on a project of coalition between Navalny and Khodorkovsky who headed The Open Russia Foundation. The Open Russia Foundation is a parallel organization to Soros Open Society Foundation. The original board members of Open Russia were Henry Kissinger and Lord Jacob Rothschild. It is referred to as a philanthropic NGO, and after being shut down in 2006, it relaunched in 2014 creating an activist platform against Putin headed by Navalny and Khodorkovsky.

Considering the volume of foreign government interference "business" the US conducts, it wouldn't surprise me if this was one of the CIA or state department pet projects put in place before the election. A just in case op to stir the crap in the event trump won. In global chess, you have to work 3-7 moves ahead of your opponents at all times. Of course I could be wrong, but certainly the historical record stands the test, why would they change plans now?

Cheers - Dave

"Several hundred Russians".

Lol. Not near as much as 100 million-ish Americans want Trump out. Or wanted Obama out. Or Bush...

Or half of Canada wants Trudeau out.

But lets focus on the pettiness of several hundred russians.

I think you are kinda missing the point.. Seldom do western protesters face the possible repercussions of a protest like those in China or Russia.. Symbolic peaceful protest in several countries can get you disappeared or your organs harvested while you are tied to a gurney and fully awake ... Most people in many countries prefer to keep a low profile..IMO
