N Korea 'test-fires ballistic missile'

I wonder how many North Korean families that could have fed, plus all the other tests.

Freggin Kim Jong Un Complex.

My eleven year old son just heard this story on the news.
He came up to me and asked if 'we will still be alive' if North Korea attacks us'.

I told him that we will be just fine.

Gotta love America in 2017.

Sooo, are they now going to start upping the numbers for new recruits in the military, "just in case"?

Who? The DPRK?

They have over 6 million reserves. Weather or not they have enough weapons to arm them all properly is any one's guess. I would assume probably not.

Because Obama and Clinton and Bush never did shows of force or talked about a military response to them.

I should have been more specific, The US. We've downgraded over the years, and are below our normal numbers. Thinking if so they are going to up the age limit again and lower standards.

North Korea launched a ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan on Friday, but the missile "broke up in flight" and has been deemed a failure, two U.S. officials have confirmed to Fox News.

The missile has been assessed to be a KN-17, a former Scud missile that officials believe is being tested to one day target ships. It flew roughly 25 miles and was in the air for about 15 minutes, officials tell Fox News. The KN-17 was launched from Pukchang.

FOXnews.com - North Korea test-fires a ballistic missile that breaks up in flight, US officials say.

Yeah, I know, FOX...

They launch towards the Sea of Japan probably for that reason. A scud? So not the ICBM. Whew!! Still not very smart as Japan is asking for First Strike capability.

You're kidding right? We were doing paper war games with the State and City of Honolulu in the late 90s, planning what taxiways and runways we'd close down in case we had to send a response to Korea.

North Korea has been on the radar for as long as I can remember.

You did that for show and to keep a facade war machine going.

That's all. There was no real threat. Sorry bud.

It feels like it some days.

Pretty much SOP for North Korea. They pop off missiles, we send a military unit for an exercise, both sides ramp up the rhetoric, and nothing happens again.

Yeah that makes sense. CSIS Missile Defense Project.

The DPRK has several usable ICBM's already, the problem for them has always been attaching a nuclear warhead to the tip. The KN-08 and KN-14 in theory could reach out and touch the western States, same with the Taepodong-2. In terms of a first strike the more likely target is Seoul. But if Pyongyang was feeling particularly ballsy they could try for Hawaii or California. Either way, the true scope of their ability to attach a nuclear payload to one of those is unknown. From the outside looking in my guess is that they don't have it yet. They have usable nukes, but they don't have the big boy delivery systems.

They were peacefully minding their own business by default.

They stand no threat against anybody nor have they ever. Douglas MacArthur wiped the floor with that crew over 60 years ago now just from a simple amphibious flank assault.

The Military keeps you moving to justify its ridiculous expenditures.

Sorry bud.

Strong leaders go around starting wars, right?

Strong leaders finish them, regardless of who started them.

I'll remember that in the coming days.

Well, if it's war, then it's war.

But I don't think there will be war.

So everyone can calm down and stop worrying about the draft.
