Why not put this in the mud-pit since the U.N. definitely belongs there (preferably in a mud-pit in another country).

For your entertainment and example of extreme hypocrisy for the day:

Video at the link.

www.yahoo.com...

GENEVA (Reuters) - The United Nations human rights office voiced deep concern on Friday at the execution of four men in Arkansas in the past week saying that the rush to carry them out before a drug expired added to the "arbitrariness and cruelty" of the process.

Arkansas on Thursday executed its fourth inmate in eight days, administering a lethal injection to a man who killed two people after escaping from a prison where he had been serving a life sentence for murdering a woman.

The UN Human Rights Council... quite a few good laughs here, beacons of Human Rights:

I wonder if they would have cared if they were executed by having their heads lopped off with a damned sword after flogging them a few hundred times?

Amazing.

They want Politically Correct executions from their member-states.

I want hangings, firing squads, and ol' Sparky. Anything that makes those last few moments Holy Terror.

I'd rather be quickly beheaded than slowly poisoned.

But yes the hypocrisy is strong on this one.

This is what I can't figure out:

People fight for doctor assisted suicide, but it's cruel to basically do the same thing to execute someone.

After Saudi Arabia got put on the Human rights council.

I'm gonna say the veracity of their issue is nothing but a bunch of snipping snippity snip snip.

You do know the UN is an organisation supported by, but separate from those countries, with mostly human rights lawyers working there?

Besides you basically say the US is exactly on the same level as the countries you listed, was that intentionally?

Assisted suicide is helping terminally ill people. Death penalty is the state deciding who gets to be killed.
You see no difference? Because I see a huge one.

I know right?

Usually the same damned people as well!

I still do not understand why we don't just execute people with morphine.

THE FACTS are the majority of atrocious human rights violations come from Russia/China/North Korea/Middle East.

The US is far from perfect but people need to get real.

The point is that using the drugs to execute them is what makes it cruel.

But doctor assisted suicide is using drugs to kill someone.

It doesn't matter whether someone wants to be killed or not. If drugs are a method of death that is cruel, then they will be cruel no matter what the reason is for their use.

Nobody argued differently, Neo.

You're starting an argument where there isn't one.

And should be in hospice.

I'm deeply disturbed that the UN placed Saudi Arabia on the human rights council.

And that UN peacekeepers were part of a pedo ring in Haiti.

Typically its a jury of peers deciding "who gets to be killed". Not perfect, but certainly not the state deciding.

Those are not your peers.

Those are strategically selected individuals by a ruthless prosecutor team and usually an incompetent defense team.

They are often as dumb as they come and have very little in common with anyone or anything related to you.

The men deserved to die, this justice system however..is a joke.

If the system is a joke, then they were wrongfully put to death.

If they deserved to die, then the system worked as intended.

No,

25 years of appeals is a joke, sir.

Putting someone to death for absolutely, without question, murdering multiple individuals..including attempted murder of the child born to the mother he murdered with a COFFEE MACHINE CHORD..is common sense.

Nature understands this, people don't,
