You definitely proved you are a Trump support with that statement.

By being honest? Thank you; I take that as your admission that Trump supporters are by and large an honest group.

Trump is terrible. He's destroying our government, giving away everything to the wealthy, and antagonizing the rest of the world, and his administration is a combination of Russian agents and family members. He is already one of the most corrupt Presidents in our history, and in the long run he is going to devastate our nation and our environment and bunch of other countries as well.

Interesting perspective...

What has he given to the wealthy?

Well given that the 100 day benchmark was set by how fast FDR sent the country further down the socialism crapper...and after the first 100 days, he rested. That is why the media has such a love affair with the benchmark.

I could go on about the fireside chats and pre-war military build ups after the first 100 days but that would be better served in a separate FDR thread.

I guess for me it'll mostly ride on the tax plan.

My current tax rate is in the 18-20% range. His new tax plan will have me in a 25% bracket, as I assume that I won't be in the lower tier and the poverty line won't be moving north quite that far. Meanwhile, tax rates at his level are reducing to 35%. So he will save money on taxes.

My standard deduction will double, so we wlll see how that nets out in the end. But it looks like the middle class is bent over and taking the shaft yet again.

It would be very interesting to see how that pans out. And no, please don't release your taxes.

The problem is that the tax code is so damn complex now, it's practically impossible to accurately predict how any change will affect people across the board. I remember when people just sat down one afternoon, filled out a simple form, and mailed it in. Now there's an entire industry that has grown up around just filing taxes. And for some as-yet undetermined reason, people think that's normal and good... I blame fluorine...

The only appropriate solution:

- abolish the IRS with a 3 year phase out
- Replace the IRS with a small, tech heavy department that recieves payments and handles basic problem calls. No auditing, no refunding. It should be a simple "tax clearinghouse" situation
- apply tax on consumables instead of stealing labor, which naturally affects wealthier people
- codify the stratigraphy of this as an amendment, so that the rich can't go in and vote themselves tax breaks on jets as an "exempt class". Or other nonsense similar to that

It seems like it can't happen because DC is full of assholes, and someone behind the scenes is able to change their will.

Ill never forget how Roberts voted to uphold the challenge to ACA. Freaking shill Justice.

I can see logic in that argument.

One concern that immediately came to mind: how would this be implemented to equalize the playing field between foreign and domestic purchases? We can't force other nations to collect our taxes, and I know I have bought more than one order from China myself... and I'm big on buying American where possible.

Maybe a tariff on all imports to handle the differential?

Also, I would be much more receptive if we exempted food.

WHICH REITERATES A:He isn't a politician attempting to measure him as one will fail.
B: It was DELIBERATELY done so to break up the RINOs and Demonic National Catastrophe.
LOTS of folks going to jail,MANY ideas playing out we wanted ONE possibly TWO Supreme court judges,IT'S good.
To set A BAR for such elaborate ideas is a joke at any measure,to ME anyway,it WILL take a year or two,I can wait.

To paraphrase: Trump is out of his depth but as long as he keeps promising, people will keep believing.

HI Ma'am they fixed the glitch. HOW do you like my NEW avatar?

It's a stunning avatar. I'm so sorry, it must be unpleasant to feel that way inside. Wish I could help.

I love my country with a child like belief, and pay for it by all the lies.
But I stand against as many as I can, even if my biology won't work anymore.
WE ALL know there is a direction we wish to go as a nation.
I JUST WANT a functioning nation that isn't nation building or smuggling drugs or the worst sin ,spending the lives of MY people by fighting limited conflicts with political EYES that only delay and fail.
ONE can but wonder if it was INTENTIONAL.
BUT WE have my beloved JOKER card here, it IS interesting to watch.

I want the same things that you want.

A functioning nation that is not knee deep in "nation building" in 3rd world 'developing countries' -- that is not "smuggling drugs" (because we can grow our own. right?) --- and that is not spending the lives of young, strong Americans to try to convince civilians and other people's troops that ours should rule the world.

Anyway, just know, cav, that I do think about you and I do empathize with your position. I don't necessarily agree with it, but I do recognize and acknowledge it as legitimate. I thank you for speaking freely.

That's not really a legitimate report card type of evaluation, though, now is it? It's just ranked biases, with no benchmarks and appropriate ranking for progress (and speed thereof) made or not made within the timeframe.

Can we use your formula to rank the mods here? That would be such a hoot. Just biases, no benchmarks.
