That's great news, glad things may be looking up for you all.
Unorthodox, unconventional...whatever, it's your life and how you choose to live it but there's certainly no point in being perpetually unhappy within it. Not everything works for every person or in every situation so you and your wife will have to find what works for you all and it sounds as if you may be moving toward that so, here's to a new day.
Best of luck and perhaps in your struggles and lessons you will be able to offer some advice or help to someone else in the future

Have a good day today.

I just wanted to thank all of you. Your advise has helped a lot. It has even moved my wife a little more over to my side after 3 days of explaining to her why I felt uncomfortable. She has decided at least to give it a week and see how he acts.
He finally managed to piss her off even through her medication for bipolar. It seems that maybe her meds might make her not give a crap about important issues when she is actually taking them every day. She has no filter but at same time she kind of goes a little to relaxed about things sometimes.

^^^^^ Don't be complacent that Is the chink in your armour which he will work

on and you will need to watch out for.

Unlike yourself, your wife's meds stop her from getting fired up, which is something

your son will be aware of and will play on.

I know maybe or situation is a little unorthodox but with our families being like the Hatfield's and mcoys the first three years was a constant barrage of family not keeping there nose out of it. So we went old school and it actually worked for us. After 20 years we are still here and still holding hands.

What ever works for you ..... too many busy bodies putting their oars in!!!!

She finally realized last night that our son is attempting to destroy our marriage because he is not happy with us being so close. Cause when me and her are hand in hand we can move mountains. I guess he figures if he separated us he might feel better bout himself or something.

A*** grade in *divide and conquer* most kids learn this in the cradle.

Stay strong together!!

All I know is he has been told to see a shrink which he doesn't like but his mother being bipolar herself is not going to let him not go.
I just won a small battle. Hope the war is over.

I think you're being a bit optimistic there.... I think you have some way to go yet

but, stay firm, stay strong and you will get there.

Good luck you're going to need it.

Very valid point about the meds. They do exactly that - make people not care about things. That's why they're good... and bad.

I'm back to explain something, as I feel I, and some others, came across as a little 'harsh' in our comments. Please know from the heart it was a "tough love' approach. I know when it comes to home and family, it's easy to give advice, but it's so difficult when it's your home and family.

I didn't think about it, but did you let your wife read this thread? If she sees how much support you have, maybe she'll realize you are not the only one who believes what's going on is unreasonable. In fact, the majority of us think it's unreasonable, and too much to be passive about.

Anyhoo, we just want you to be okay and comfortable in your own home. And that's the truth.

Take care.

Hi angeldoll!

While I know your intentions are good and honest, I'm not sure if him showing his wife this thread will work...or backfire.

If she feels like he's been talking about her to strangers online she might get pretty upset. Especially if we are all telling him that she is unreasonable, part of the problem...and he should kick her out.

I'm glad that so many people here responded with sympathy and advice, just don't want him to fan the flames of a potentially volatile situation. I know you meant well, I almost wrote the same advice yesterday but I thought about it and realized it could be used against him.

Please don't take this personally, I've just lived in a similar situation where I had to "walk on eggshells" and know that some people don't appreciate having their private lives discussed amongst strangers.

That's a good point Jacy.
My kiddos lurk (the oldest one mainly) here and I am always mindful of how things are worded OR if it's something that they may be uncomfortable with me sharing...I get the 'go ahead' first. I try to not share anything too personal even though it's an 'anonymous' site...it could still make folks uncomfortable or upset.
They (the kiddos) have shown their father things I've written like stories or poems but, none of them want to join LOL just a bunch o'lurkers. :/
Anyway, point is...you may be right and it could make things worse and she (the wife) may not be understanding of the OP needing to talk to someone/anyone even if it's folks that he doesn't know personally (which sometimes is the easiest!)
Good thinkin'!

Good point. Something he said earlier made me wonder if he had already shown it to her, I think, which prompted my own thoughts about it.
The motivation of my post was to sort of apologize if I sounded harsh yesterday.

Thank you TNMockingbird! It's a tough call sometimes, but better to err on the side of safety.

angeldoll...I think most of the members who replied here were really only trying to offer advice and support. I don't recall you coming off as sounding harsh.
It was actually nice to see people jumping in to assist the OP.
This community is great for that.
