This is the most concerning statement from the news article:

"During the meeting, Xi told the president (Trump) that China does not have the leverage over the Kim Jong Un regime in Pyongyang that the U.S. government believes it has, according to a White House official."

Let's give Xi the benefit of the doubt and assume he is being truthful. If this is truly the case then Xi is politely telling Trump we have a legitimate mad man with nuclear capability.

Frightening. Very frightening.

I would have thought Xi would be saying Trump was that man.

But I guess it's ......

Only thing "urgent" is to get a war started.

They can say anything they want at this point, the end is obvious.

There's very little time for Trump to act unilaterally. The South Koreans have got an impeached president getting replaced in less than a month. Everyone knows the next SK administration will be very soft on NK.

That'll give NK five (5) years to build it's arsenal of strategic weapons.

"Urgent" is the right word, Black_Fox.

Then I say lets do it. We should allow the acting president of south Korea, who cares not for the ruling party of the north, to get the green light for a pre-emotive action guaranteed to be supported by the pacific coalition before the elections. That would probably also keep a person in power with a favorable position that has mutual interests.
Also, What if we can secure some backdoor deal with china to simultaneously knock their Satellites out of orbit and then just go all out blitzkrieg, with ABM's at the ready. If we do that, maybe we only lose Seoul before everyone lands ground forces, and most of Japan could be spared.

Wow....

Half expected though. China is in range of his nuclear warheads... very dangerous for them and quite possibly they are not as brave as their "sword rattling" statements make them appear to be.

. .maybe we only lose Seoul...

"Only"? You do realize Seoul has a population of about 10 million, right? And that's just the actual city. That doesn't include the tens of millions more in the surrounding area.

Its not going to be nuked. Without a nuke, I doubt the population would even lose 50000 lives, and I am being very liberal with that figure. Plus, the construction and real estate industry would easily be seeing double and maybe even triple digit growth for years for all investors.

But, the potential is that millions could die down the road when NK has enough nukes or god forbid MRV's to get their chances of a successful strike by overwhelming the ABM systems.

We have to strike asap! The more time that passes, just means a higher body count down the road.

Given the context, I clearly wasn't. Take your trolling elsewhere.

Wow!
You are one hell of a hacker to discover that. The fact is, the next SK administration doesn't matter to the US military strength in this area. Probably over throw it too just like the lady that got busted. We really don't know the truth when it comes to back door politics, other then, its a dog eat dog world out there or more bluntly, a minnow doesn't swim among the sharks if its smart.

It might've been a little troll-like, sorry it's late. But his words are of no consequence whatsoever. He's the third generation of his family who have lead that country and have spoken utter claptrap. What specific actions you're speaking of I don't know. His actions, however, are no different than any other despotic tyrant that has graced the face of the Earth. I don't believe there's any indication that he is likely to do anything to risk his position. He may have many personality disorders due to his upbringing and his extreme power, but I don't believe there's an indication that he suffers from any sort of mental illness.

In my opinion, for the US to make a preemptive strike of some sort would be overwhelming hubris and well over the line crossing from ethically questionable and into completely evil. The real reason we are even thinking about this country at all is because of banking, bottom line. It has nothing to do with nukes.

Um, well for starters he had his own uncle and half- brother killed so they couldn't lay claim to power. Not something one would do in a sane state!

Really? History would tend to argue against you. Any move to consolidate and/or secure power, though evil, is very sane. It is amoral but amorality does not equal insanity.

and of course US intelligence has 'proof' of NKs nuke capabilities. since they have the capability to successfully launch basic missiles, they absolutely positively pose a threat to the US and all the countries they have attacked the past 50 years should be worried too.
