So the tolerant left has threatened violence to stop someone they disagree with from speaking. That's like feminist complaining about how awful men are, but trying to force a man to rap so they can scam him out of money from a record deal.

Threats of violence have come from far-left and far-right extremist groups according to the Berkeley police department.

No. It's beating the bad guys by having her speak somewhere where they can't get the upper hand. She gets to speak, they don't get to disrupt it. It's a win/win for Berkeley, Coulter, and the students who want to hear her speak. It's a loss for the disrupters.

All persons on campus property must abide by University policies and campus regulations and must identify themselves upon request to University officials acting in the performance of their duties.

Hey look! Berkley police should have been detaining Antifa or escorting them off campus...

Were the threats from the far-right directed towards Coulter or towards the people making the threats towards Coulter? Or did the police not say.

Do you know that they didn't register with the campus?

I tell you what, that college have become a joke of what the future of America is going to become.

Only those that align with certain groups have the right to speech.

I say take away all public funding and let see what happen with the free riders that wants to control free speech.

Earlier in the day I was just contemplating about how I would rather live in a world that didn't need heroes, so I appreciate that sentiment because I think that you are trying to apply that concept here, however... it's not working. Because if we have to accommodate criminal behavior in order to keep the peace and attain that heroless world then that's a place that needs a hero the most, imo.

I understand about prevention, too.

Like we could prevent people from committing the crime if we changed ourselves(ex. Change venues clothes beliefs etc) so nobody has to get hurt? But I understand that as accomodating criminal behavior specially when the crime has already been committed (the threats).

And I appreciate that on some level they considered this woman's protection, but I understand as well the offense of someone saying, "well we received some threats that we are not going to do anything about other than offer you a smaller more cost efficient venue because we don't want to put out the money or effort to protect you."

But idk cause I might not be seeing the big picture yet. I'm open to learning more about it all.

Well, the university officials said in their public statement that the Police department told them that they couldn't guarantee safety at the original venue, so the university made the decision based on what the security experts told them. According to that, it's not about not wanting to put out the effort, it's about not being physically able to protect.

Yeah. Let me know when we are physically able to stop all crime everywhere. That'd be awesome.

What does that have to do with "all persons on campus property"?
